SANlight Undercanopy STIXX 5-120 is a five-module luminaire for powerful lighting of the lower layers in large and dense crops around 120 cm. It brings light deep under the canopy, where shade would otherwise form, and helps align the development of lower flowers with the upper ones. It delivers 317 µmol/s at 117 W in full spectrum, and the IP68 rating stands up even in dense environments.

Installation and power supply

The undercanopy version is placed low between the plants on an undercanopy stand, which is purchased separately; alternatively, it can be attached using spacers or a mounting kit. Electrically, it is the same luminaire as the top-light, so it does not light on its own and needs a Driver Set STIXX 5 (250-910 W; powers 2 to 4 5-120 luminaires at full output).

How does the undercanopy version differ from the top-light model?

It is physically the same LED luminaire with the same output and flux - 117 W and 317 µmol/s. The difference is in use: it is mounted low and shines into the lower layers of the plants, while the top-light hangs above the plants as the main lighting. The undercanopy light is added to the upper one, not a replacement for it.

How much undercanopy light should be added to the upper lighting?

Undercanopy is supplementary lighting, not a replacement for the main light. It is chosen according to crop density and how deeply the upper light penetrates - with denser plants, it makes sense to add more lower luminaires. You can fine-tune the intensity with dimming on the driver. For continuous coverage of the area, SANlight also offers ready-made undercanopy sets.
