Scales
Digital scales have a wide range of applications, from everyday household use for weighing food or personal body weight to professional use in medicine, laboratories, industry and trade. They can have different capacities and accuracies depending on their purpose. Some more advanced models may also have functions such as automatic switch-off after a certain period of inactivity, a tare function for subtracting the weight of an object and similar. When choosing digital scales, it is important to consider factors such as maximum weighing capacity, accuracy, durability and any special functions according to your needs.

A good scale is in every case part of every grower's essential equipment. That is why you have before you a whole range of scales, divided for clarity into individual subcategories into pocket, kitchen, table and calibration weights. There are even ultra-precise laboratory scales with a resolution of 0.001 g. Now all that remains is to choose!
As you can see, the range including scales of the most varied categories is more than diverse. Perhaps expert advice will speed up your choice. Do not hesitate to send us your preferences and we will promptly recommend a scale tailored to you that you will appreciate most. We are here for you. Write to info@higarden.cz.
What accuracy do I actually need from a scale?
Choose the resolution according to what you are weighing. For measuring fertilisers and general work, a pocket scale with a 0.1 g increment is enough; for loose substrates and larger doses, choose a table scale with a capacity in kilograms. Anyone who needs to weigh hundredths or thousandths of a gram will appreciate a laboratory scale - for example the My Weigh Gempro 300 with a resolution of 0.001 g.
Why do I need calibration weights with a scale?
Every accurate scale will, over time, so to speak, "drift" and start measuring with a deviation. Calibration weights of a known weight (for example 100 g or 500 g) will return the scale to the correct values. Without regular calibration, the measured figures from sensitive scales cannot be relied upon.
How long does a scale last on batteries?
Pocket models run on AA or AAA batteries and most have automatic switch-off after half a minute to a minute of inactivity, which significantly extends battery life. You can then use the TARE function to subtract the weight of the bowl or packaging, so you weigh the net contents straight away.
