Ionisers and ozonisers address the same problem - unpleasant odour in the growing area - but each in a different way. An ioniser enriches the air with negative ions and captures dust particles, while an ozoniser creates ozone, which actively breaks down odour molecules.
How to choose between an ioniser and an ozoniser
An ioniser is a gentler choice for occupied spaces - Malapa IN03 and IN05 have a certificate from the National Institute of Public Health and do not produce ozone, and the IN05 can handle spaces up to 750 m3. Ozonisers such as AirOzone or Diamond Air work directly in the ventilation ducting and are rated for a specific airflow - the range includes variants from 150 mm (600 m3/h) up to 355 mm (4800 m3/h) for large growing rooms.
- Ioniser - negative ions, captures dust, no ozone production, suitable even for living rooms.
- Duct ozoniser - mounted directly into the ventilation system, breaks down odour molecules with ozone, choose the output according to the airflow in the entire system.
Choose the model according to the volume of the space and whether the unit is to work independently or in conjunction with a air purifier and other elements of climate control.
