Clogged piping and capillaries are the most common cause of uneven irrigation - limescale, mineral deposits and biofilm gradually narrow the flow and the system stops working as it should. Regular cleaning prevents this and extends the service life of the entire irrigation or hydroponic system.
The products in this category differ according to what they remove specifically and how aggressively they act.
- Against deposits and limescale - products such as Atami ATA Clean or Terra Aquatica FlashClean dissolve salt residues from fertilisers and calcium and phosphate deposits, thereby restoring the system's flow capacity.
- Against capillary blockage - Canna D-Block works preventively against blockage of irrigation hoses and capillaries.
- Disinfection and biofilm - peroxide-based products or bioenzymatic cleaners remove biofilm and pathogens directly from the system water.
Cleaning is usually carried out between growing cycles, when the product is allowed to run through the entire system and flush even places you would not normally reach.
