This category includes small but useful aids for tying and shaping plants - everything you need to support heavy branches, open the crop to light and keep plants in the desired shape. A well-tied plant makes better use of light in the lower levels and will not break under the weight of its own yield.
Which aids should you choose
Depending on what you are dealing with, you will choose a different type:
- Yo-yo hangers - self-winding retractable hangers with a hook and line that pull drooping branches upwards and keep them under tension. Practical for gradually lifting the crop during flowering.
- Support nets (trellis netting) - plastic mesh with a 15x15 cm opening that is stretched over the crop and evenly spreads the plants across the area. Ideal for ScrOG technique and for climbing vegetables.
- LST clips and half-moons - small clips for Low-Stress Training, which let you bend a branch to an angle of up to 90° and make light and air accessible to the lower levels. Gentle on the plant and reusable.
- Plant Strapper tying pliers - a professional tool for quickly tying a larger number of plants with tape, also available with replacement staples and tape.
- Staples and clips - universal clips for attaching stems and hoses.

What mesh size should a support net have?
The common mesh size is 15x15 cm - large enough for you to comfortably weave branches through the plants, yet dense enough to keep the crop evenly spread across the area.
What is LST and what are half-moons and clips for?
LST (Low-Stress Training) is gentle bending of branches without damaging them. Clips and plastic half-moons keep a branch at a bent angle, so light reaches the lower levels too and the plant grows wider rather than taller.
