What diameter of water distribution should I choose?
Main routes are most often built from hoses with a diameter of 16, 20 or 25 mm - the longer the distribution and the more draw-off points, the thicker the hose you should choose. For each diameter, you can then find matching components, connectors and reducers so that everything follows on from each other.
How do I connect components of different diameters?
Reducers and connectors are used to connect hoses and parts of different sizes. Thanks to them, you can easily switch, for example, from a main 25 mm route to thinner 16 mm branches leading to drippers at individual plants.
How does drip irrigation differ from hand watering?
Drip irrigation brings water and nutrient solution slowly and directly to the roots of individual plants, so it doses evenly and saves water and time. Hand watering with a watering can or sprayer is suitable for a few plants or where you do not want to build a fixed distribution.
Do I need a pump for water distribution?
With gravity feed from a tank placed higher up, you can sometimes manage without a pump, but with automatic and drip systems a pump ensures constant pressure and even flow to all branches. You choose a suitable type according to the number of draw-off points and the height to which the water needs to be delivered.
