Probe Thermometers
When you need to know the temperature right by the plants, but want the display within reach, a thermometer with a probe on a cable is useful. Place the sensor in a grow tent, greenhouse or terrarium, read the values conveniently from outside, and the min/max memory will show you how the temperature fluctuated through day and night.

Why choose a thermometer with a probe instead of a regular room thermometer?
The probe on a cable measures the temperature exactly where the plants are - by the canopy or by the roots - while the display stays outside the damp and warm environment of the tent. This gives you a true picture of the climate in the growing space, not the room temperature around it.
What is the min/max function for?
The minimum and maximum memory records how low the temperature dropped at night and how high it rose during the day, even when you are not by the device. Models such as Airontek Thermo-Hygro Maxmin, Garden HighPro HYGROTHERMO or URBAN thermometers have this function.
How long a probe cable do I need?
The length varies by model - usually around 1 to 1.5 m, and for some sensors even more. Choose a cable so that the sensor reaches inside the tent and the display remains in a clearly readable place outside.
Do these thermometers also measure humidity?
