How a vaporiser works
A vaporiser heats dried herbs (or concentrates and e-liquids depending on the type of device) to a temperature below the combustion point, so their aromatic substances are released as vapour, not smoke. The vapour is therefore gentler and cleaner than with classic combustion. Depending on the design, the devices are divided into two main groups.
- Tabletop vapourisers - powerful home models with precise temperature control; typically Volcano and other tabletop devices with a balloon or hose system
- Pocket vapourisers and vape pens - compact battery-powered devices for your pocket, including cartridge systems for concentrates and e-liquids

What is the difference between a tabletop and a pocket vaporiser?
Tabletop vapourisers are more powerful, have more precise temperature control and are designed for home use, where they are powered from the mains. Pocket models and vape pens run on batteries, fit in your pocket and are suitable for travel - at the cost of lower capacity and simpler temperature control.
How do you clean and maintain a vaporiser?
It is advisable to clean the chamber and mouthpiece regularly of deposits so that the vapour remains clean and neutral in taste. Use designated cleaning products and accessories for this; in devices with cartridges, worn parts are replaced with new ones.
Can concentrates and e-liquids be used in a vaporiser?
It depends on the type of device. Some pocket vapourisers and pens with a cartridge system are designed for extracts and e-liquids, while other models work with dried herbs. Before buying, check which material the specific vaporiser is intended for.
