Two STIXX 5-120 lights with extra reserve

SANlight Driver Set STIXX 5, 400W is a Smart Driver for the STIXX 5-120 range. According to SANlight's official table, it can run two lights at full power - just like the smaller 250W version, but with a higher output current (4.2 A) and reserve for a longer chain and later addition of lights (which then run at reduced power). It powers the STIXX 5 range exclusively.

The driver is supplied without lights and cables and is purchased separately. To light it up, add STIXX 5-120 lights, which do not light up without the driver.

When the 400W version fits

The full power of two STIXX 5-120 lights can also be handled by the smaller 250W driver, so choose the 400W version for reserve: the higher current and wattage leave room to add another light to the pair, which then runs slightly underpowered. If you want three lights at full power, go for the 610W version.

Brightness control and unused ports

Control is centralised via the driver: the blue connector accepts the magnetic M-Dimmer, SANlight Bluetooth Dimmer and a 0-10V input, and controls the brightness of all connected lights. Free DC ports must not remain open - each one must be fitted with a termination plug, which the manufacturer requires to protect the system.

Water resistance

The M19 connector on the LED light is water-resistant (IP68), but the driver's mains plug is not - protect its connection to the socket from moisture. Leave at least 10 mm between multiple drivers and do not stack them on top of each other.

What happens if I do not fill all the driver's ports?

Nothing, you do not need to fill them straight away. The Smart Driver recognises how many STIXX 5-120 lights are connected, and unused ports are not a problem - just close them with a termination plug. Up to the full number of lights, each one shines at full power; the driver recognises adding or disconnecting a light by itself.

What is the termination plug for and do I need it?

Yes, it is mandatory. The driver has more DC ports than the number of lights you usually connect, and each unused port must be closed with a termination plug (AI5010). Without it, there is a risk of damage to the system. It is an inexpensive but essential part - the manufacturer does not supply the plug together with the lights or the driver; it is bought separately.
