Propagation cubes are a medium suitable for rooting and cultivating plants, whether for seed germination or rooting cuttings.
Our range includes Grodan cubes - basic, time-tested rockwool cubes. Agra-Wool cubes, which, among other things, do not need to be buffered, or Root Riot cubes, which contain traces of basic nutrients and special fungi that support root growth and the support of young plants.
These specific inert propagation media are also ideal for hydroponic growing. They do not affect the pH or EC of the nutrient solution in any way and contain no nutrients. Propagation tablets (Jiffy) and propagation cubes, whether made of basalt or earth wool, are widely used by growers around the world for quick and easy rooting of cuttings or germination of seeds.

Do I need to buffer rockwool cubes before use?
Yes, for classic Grodan rockwool cubes, it is recommended to soak them before sowing in water with adjusted pH around 5.5, because basalt wool itself has a high alkaline pH. Agra-Wool cubes and Root Riot tablets do not require buffering.
How often should propagation cubes be watered?
The cube should always be moist, but not waterlogged - it is enough to keep it saturated so that water does not drip out when lightly squeezed. Excessive watering prevents air from reaching the roots and slows germination.
What is the difference between a propagation cube and a Jiffy tablet?
Cubes made of mineral or earth wool are inert, contain no nutrients and are also suitable for hydroponics. Jiffy tablets are made of compressed peat with coconut, swell after watering and, once rooted, are planted into the substrate together with the wrapper.
When is a cutting or seedling ready for transplanting?
As soon as the first white roots grow out of the cube, the plant is ready to be transplanted into a larger pot or growing medium. Handle the roots as gently as possible.
