Cooling
Water cooling for growers is an important process that helps maintain the optimal temperature of the nutrient solution or soil for plant growth. It is important to maintain a consistent temperature so that extreme plant stress does not occur, which could negatively affect plant growth, yield and quality. Different plant species may have slightly different temperature requirements, so it is important to familiarise yourself with the specific recommendations for the species being grown.

Effective cooling has its firm place both in growing and in aquatics. Increased water or nutrient solution temperature in the tank represents a serious risk to plants, and the same applies to fish or other aquatic animals living in the aquarium...
Eliminate this risk with quality equipment from the United Kingdom by BOYU, featuring a microcomputer for easy control and maintaining the required temperature, as well as built-in overload protection.

How to choose a tank chiller
Choose chillers according to the tank volume and required flow rate. The Water Chiller series covers a wide range - HS52A with an output of 600 to 2200 l/h for smaller systems, HS66A handling 1000 to 2500 l/h, and the powerful HS90A for tanks of 200 to 1,200 litres with a flow rate of up to 3000 l/h. The titanium evaporator withstands even seawater, digital control keeps the temperature precise, and quiet operation is not a problem even at home.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ideal nutrient solution temperature?
Most plants are suited to a solution of around 18 to 22 °C. In this range, there is enough dissolved oxygen in the water and the roots absorb nutrients better.
Why is warm water in the tank a problem?
As the temperature rises, the amount of dissolved oxygen decreases and root pathogens multiply. The roots then suffocate, turn brown, and the plant slows down growth and nutrient uptake.
How do I determine the correct chiller size?
The volume of the cooled tank and how much you need to reduce the temperature are decisive. Choose a model whose recommended capacity in litres matches your system with a reserve - an undersised chiller will run at full power and will not keep up.
Can the chiller also be used in an aquarium?
Yes. Tank chillers work just as well in freshwater and marine aquatics, and the titanium evaporator is resistant to salt water.
