Air Pot Pots

The best experts in botany recognise and accept the benefits of the Air-Pot® system. This recommendation suggests that the system has a positive effect on plant health and growth. The Air-Pot® system is designed so that plants of various sizes can be grown in it, from small to really large. This flexibility makes it a suitable choice for nurseries and growers working with different types of plants. Commercial fruit and vegetable growers, as well as those involved in competitive growing, achieve positive results when using the Air-Pot® system. The system probably helps shorten cultivation times and achieve winning results in plant quality.

Many years of research and experience with growing all types of plants have perfected Air-Pot pots. The unique design guarantees maximum aeration of the root system, increased uptake of nutrients and water, and optimal drainage of the growing medium. As a result, the roots are stronger, growth is faster, the plant is healthier and the harvest is more productive. The pot can be connected to automatic irrigation systems and, of course, also allows manual watering.

How Air-Pot works

The secret lies in the perforated wall made up of conical protrusions. A root that grows to the edge and reaches the air naturally stops, and the plant creates a network of new side roots instead - so-called air pruning. The result is a dense, evenly branched root ball without the spiral coiling that occurs in classic solid pots. The plant can thus absorb more water and nutrients and keep up growth more effectively.

Which size to choose

We offer Air-Pot in a full range of volumes from 1 litre for seedlings and cuttings up to a 38-litre container for large, long-grown plants. Smaller volumes (1 to 5 l) are suitable for pre-growing and transplanting young plants, medium sizes (9 to 12.5 l) for a normal growing cycle, and large sizes (20 to 38 l) where you want to give the plant maximum space for roots. The container consists of an unfolded sheet and is joined with fixing screws, which we also stock as a spare part.

Frequently asked questions

How is Air-Pot different from a regular pot?

The perforated wall lets roots at the edge breathe and naturally stops them - instead of spiralling, the plant forms a dense network of new rootlets. The root ball is therefore healthier and the plant grows faster than in a closed plastic pot.

Does the growing medium dry out faster in Air-Pot?

The aerated wall slightly increases evaporation, so Air-Pot is especially appreciated by growers who tend to overwater. In hot weather and with large plants, it is worth watering more often or connecting the container to automatic irrigation.

Can Air-Pot be used repeatedly?

Yes. Before the next cycle, the container is simply taken apart, washed and screwed back together. The quality plastic lasts for many seasons, and replacement fixing screws are in stock.

Which plants is Air-Pot suitable for?

It works well for anything that needs to form a strong root system - from vegetables and fruit trees to ornamental plants and nursery trees. Thanks to the flexibility of the volumes, both small and commercial growers can choose the right option.
