PLANT!T hydroponic systems work without a conventional substrate - the plant roots are directly immersed in oxygenated nutrient solution, which allows faster nutrient uptake than in soil or coco.
PLANT!T AEROS is a simple Deep Water Culture system, also known as a bubbler - an air pump oxygenates the solution and keeps it moving around the roots. The AEROS range is available in a version for one plant (AEROS 1) and as a four-unit system with two air pumps (AEROS IV) for growing multiple plants at the same time.
PLANT!T GEMINI, by contrast, is a circulation system with a pump that ensures continuous circulation of the nutrient solution around the root ball.
Accessories for the systems include Root Control Disc discs, which are inserted into the bottom of the pot and prevent roots from growing out of the container.
Hydroponics requires regular monitoring of pH and EC of the solution, but the reward is faster growth and easier control over how many nutrients actually reach the plant. An alternative with a similar principle is the Terra Aquatica or AutoPot systems.
