What are support nets and bamboo canes used for?

Mechanical support keeps the plant upright and distributes its weight so that the stems do not break under the load of fruit. Bamboo canes are ideal for individual potted plants, while MARNET support nets with 12x12 or 18x18 cm mesh evenly weave the entire crop and guide branches into a horizontal plane.

Which mesh size should you choose?

The smaller 12x12 cm mesh holds smaller and denser growth more precisely, while the larger 18x18 cm mesh is suitable for more robust plants with wider spacing. You stretch the net horizontally above the plants and gradually thread the tops through it as they grow.

When should you start supporting plants?

It is best to prepare support before the plant needs it. Root stimulants and anti-stress products are applied right at the start, and canes and nets are installed during the growth phase - later there would be a risk of damaging an already branched plant.
