UV-C Germicidal Lights

Invisible ultraviolet radiation in the C spectrum (UV-C) with a light wavelength of 253.7 nm is used for sterilising surfaces, liquids and gases wherever a sterile environment is required (healthcare, food industry, laboratories, etc.).

UV-C germicidal sterilisation UV lamp damages the DNA of dust mites, bacteria, viruses, moulds and other pathogens, thereby destroying their ability to multiply or cause disease. The advantage is low energy consumption. In indoor growing, it is used for sterilising used substrate, treating infected plants and cleaning growing spaces and equipment.

A complete germicidal light supplied including the fitting and the appropriate cable is also available, as well as a separate replacement UV fluorescent tube.

The GL14 complete set with socket and cable is also popular; it only needs to be plugged into a socket. Even such a compact lamp can reliably remove viruses, bacteria and spores from spaces up to 7m3.

The germicidal emitter is also used as part of equipment for treating drinking water without the use of chemicals.

The advantage of a germicidal lamp over other sterilisation methods is that it does not create any toxic by-products.

Warning! UV-C radiation can cause inflammation of the conjunctiva or skin burns! When working under the lights, it is necessary to protect the skin with suitable clothing, e.g. rubber gloves, and the eyes with glasses with clear glass and a UVC filter!
