Polytunnels and cold frames are agricultural structures designed for optimal plant growth and protection. Polytunnels are structures made from lightweight materials such as metal and plastic, covered with transparent film that allows sunlight to pass through while protecting plants from adverse weather conditions. These tunnels are often used for growing vegetables, flowers and herbs all year round. Cold frames are similar structures that serve to retain heat and moisture. They are often used for less hardy plants, such as tropical species or seedlings that require higher temperatures and humidity. Cold frames can be equipped with special systems for regulating temperature and humidity to make them ideal for the growth of specific plant species.

A polytunnel or cold frame will help plants even where outdoor conditions are not quite ideal - it retains heat and moisture and thus extends the growing season. The Foliovník Greenhouse range is available in several sizes from compact 70x50x95 cm to spacious 6m2 and 10m2 versions; thanks to the basic frame, assembly is simple and they can be easily moved to a balcony or garden.
Cold frames in the PARIS and MINI ranges made of polycarbonate are more suitable for smaller areas - MINI SINGLE and MINI DOUBLE take up from 0.6 to 1 m2, which is enough for raising seedlings or less hardy species requiring higher temperature and humidity. For longer beds, a garden polytunnel measuring 4x1 m is suitable.
When choosing, consider mainly the available space and whether you will grow permanently or only for the season - replacement covers are also available for polytunnels if the original film reaches the end of its service life.
