Coco substrate is one of the inert media widely used in hydroponics. It consists of crushed and repeatedly cleaned coconut fibres that do not affect the nutrient solution and are able to absorb a large amount of water while also retaining high aeration. A stable environment, plenty of water and air – these are ideal conditions for plants of all kinds to develop, and that is why coco is extremely popular among growers all over the world.
The top-quality coco substrates in our range are enriched with perlite for even better aeration, and the fungus Trichoderma, living in symbiosis with plant roots, is often also present, significantly increasing the root system's capacity to absorb water and nutrients. It also helps to use fertilisers more efficiently. Its presence also contributes to increased plant defence.
You can buy coco substrate from leading brands in our shop in two forms. Either in 50-litre bags, or as compressed coco, which allows easy handling and, thanks to its dehydrated state, can also be stored for a long time without any effect on the substrate quality. Simply soak the compressed bricks briefly before use and the substrate will expand to the declared volume (9–70 l).
Coco requires specific nutrition, so remember to use only fertilisers for coco bearing the designation Coco or Cocos. We recommend using substrates and fertilisers of the same brands.
