These little pests damaging your plants directly on the surface of their leaves or stems will be stopped thanks to specialised products in the form of chemical insecticides as well as purely natural products. A separate chapter is molluscicides against slugs.
Our TIP: In the fight against sucking and chewing insects, a product from the traditional Czech manufacturer AgroBio with the fitting name KARATE is exceptionally effective.
How to choose the right protection according to the pest
First identify what you are dealing with. Contact products such as AgroBio INPORO or the natural NeemAzal based on neem work against sucking insects such as aphids, spider mites and whiteflies. If you want to grow gently, choose natural products - herbal mixtures and products based on soaps and oils (for example Neudorff), which are also suitable shortly before harvest. Slugs and snails call for separate molluscicides. Always follow the dosage and pre-harvest interval stated by the manufacturer, and rotate products regularly so pests do not develop resistance.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know which pest has attacked my plants?
Aphids and whiteflies sit in colonies on the underside of leaves, spider mites are revealed by fine webs and yellow speckled damage, and slugs by chewed edges and slimy trails. Based on the symptoms, choose an insecticide, a natural product, or a molluscicide.
Can I use chemicals shortly before harvest?
For each product, follow the pre-harvest interval - the time that must pass between treatment and harvest. Shortly before harvest, it is better to choose natural products with a short or zero pre-harvest interval.
Why rotate products?
With repeated use of the same active ingredient, pests can develop resistance. Rotating products with a different mode of action keeps protection effective.
