The 100% natural composition of this certified coconut substrate meets even the strictest and most demanding advocates of ecological agriculture...

If you want to grow in coconut purely organically, whether in outdoor or indoor conditions, the coconut mix from BioBizz will certainly appeal to you!

Plants grown in this airy inert medium need to be fed from the first week. The substrate retains moisture excellently and can be used universally both for growing in a pot or window box and in hydroponics.

We recommend combining it with fertilisers from the same manufacturer.

Coco Mix, or Coco Kaya with perlite?

The classic BioBizz Coco Mix is pure coconut suitable for a pot, window box and hydroponics. The Juju Royal Coco Kaya version mixes coconut fibres and peat with perlite in a 75/25 ratio and is lightly pre-fertilised - the airier structure also lightens the roots and drains excess water better. If you want maximum oxygen for the roots and easy drying, choose the version with perlite.

Frequently asked questions about BioBizz coconut substrate

When should I start fertilising in coconut?

Practically immediately from the first week. Pure coconut is an inert medium that contains only a small amount of nutrients on its own, so the plant needs nutrition from fertiliser from the start. Organic BioBizz fertilisers are ideal for this.

Do I need to rinse or pre-fertilise coconut before planting?

BioBizz Coco is ready to use, but coconut generally reacts with calcium and magnesium, so it is worth adding Cal-Mag and thoroughly soaking the medium with solution at the first watering. The Coco Kaya version is also lightly pre-fertilised.

How often should I water coconut substrate?

Coconut holds moisture, but it likes regular watering in smaller doses. Let the top layer dry slightly and water so that a little drains from the bottom - the roots will also get fresh oxygen.

Can coconut be used repeatedly?

Yes, after rinsing and revitalisation, quality coconut can be used for another cycle. You can find the procedure in our guide below.
