Is a discharge set better, or LED?
Discharge lamps (HPS) are proven and more affordable to buy, but they produce more heat. LED sets such as 8x Lumatek ZEUS have higher efficiency, heat up less and offer control via a digital controller - suitable where temperature and operating efficiency matter.
How large an area does one light from the set illuminate?
As a guide, one LED Lumatek ZEUS 600W 2.9 covers roughly 2 m2. The exact coverage always depends on the growth stage and the hanging height above the plants.
Do I need to buy cables or a controller separately for the set?
Not with sets - the necessary cabling is included in the package. With large LED assemblies, the digital controller is usually included directly in the set, so you can switch on and control all the lights at once.
