SANlight Driver Set STIXX 5 250W is an input power driver for the STIXX 5 series. At full power it lights two STIXX 5-120 luminaires - the most powerful STIXX luminaires for lighting one smaller tent.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

Input power supply unit for the STIXX 5-120 series

SANlight Driver Set STIXX 5, 250W is the smallest Smart Driver for STIXX 5-120 luminaires - the most powerful linear luminaires in the STIXX series. At full power it can run two luminaires, ideally above one smaller but well-lit tent. The driver is intended exclusively for the STIXX 5 series.

It is purchased separately, without luminaires or cables. To light up, it requires STIXX 5-120 luminaires, which without power are just unlit luminaires; the driver is therefore their mandatory accessory.

Parameters

  • Type: power driver (Smart Driver) for the STIXX series
  • Maximum output power: 250 W
  • Designed for: STIXX 5-120 luminaires (same series only)
  • At full power (official SANlight table): two luminaires (2x 117 W = 234 W)
  • Nominal input of one luminaire: 117 W
  • Max. output current: 2.6 A
  • Typical output voltage: 96 V DC
  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 281 x 90 x 41.5 mm
  • Weight: 1.9 kg
  • Input voltage: 120-240/277 V AC, 50/60 Hz
  • Dimming: blue connector on the driver (M-Dimmer, Bluetooth Dimmer or 0-10V)
  • Unused DC ports: termination plug (mandatory)
  • Water resistance: M19 connector on the luminaire IP68; the driver's mains plug is not water-resistant

Compatibility

Compatible:

Incompatible:

  • other STIXX series (2-60, 3-80, 4-100 and 6-150) - the driver is intended only for its own series
  • mixing different STIXX models on one driver - identical luminaires are required
  • STIXX 50 - closed system with its own power source, different cabling
  • EVO and FLEX II luminaires - different connector and power supply

When to consider a stronger driver straight away

According to the official SANlight table, the 250W input power supply unit can run two STIXX 5-120 luminaires at full power. The key is to decide whether you will stay with two luminaires: the driver cannot be upgraded later, the whole unit is replaced. If you plan three 5-120 luminaires, buy the 610W version straight away (the 400W version also handles only two at full power, just with a larger reserve). You do not need to deal with brightness control in advance - the dimmer can be added to the driver at any time.

How the driver dims and is capped

On the driver you will find a blue connector for dimming - connect an M-Dimmer or Bluetooth Dimmer from SANlight to it, or send a 0-10V signal and all luminaires will dim at the same time. Ports that you do not use must be capped with a termination plug, otherwise you risk damaging the system.

IP rating and spacing

The IP68 rating applies to the M19 connector on the luminaire; the driver's mains plug is not water-resistant. Do not stack drivers on top of each other; leave at least a 10 mm gap between them.

Frequently asked questions

How many STIXX 5-120 luminaires will this driver power?

Two - it powers a pair of STIXX 5-120 luminaires (2x 117 W = 234 W) at full power, as stated in the official SANlight table. You can connect a third luminaire, but then they will switch to reduced brightness. If you are aiming for three luminaires at full power, start straight away with the 610W driver.

Can different STIXX series be mixed on one power supply unit?

No. One driver always powers only identical luminaires of the same series; the manufacturer explicitly forbids combining STIXX 5-120 with another STIXX model on a shared driver, because each series has a different power input. If you need different series, get a separate driver for each. You can connect multiple units of the same model with M19 cables and splitters.

Do I need a termination plug for the driver?

Yes. The driver offers more DC ports than you will typically use, and unused ports are closed with a termination plug (AI5010). Without it, damage to the system may occur, so treat it as an essential part of the set. It is supplied separately, not with the driver or with the luminaires.
