Composting is the easiest way to make use of garden and kitchen waste and obtain high-quality humus for growing.
The basis is a plastic compost bin - in the range you will find capacities from 280 to 1000 litres, mostly with larger ventilation openings for proper air circulation and a modular construction for easy assembly without tools. Larger openings and a stable construction also prevent the spread of odour and protect the contents from weather conditions.
The decomposition process can be accelerated using bacterial and herbal compost accelerators - in the form of a concentrate, granules or a herbal infusion of nettle and chamomile. Some accelerators also reduce rotting, the occurrence of mould in compost or the germination of weed seeds.
When choosing a compost bin, the main factors are the size of the garden and the amount of waste - for normal household use, a smaller capacity of around 300-450 litres is sufficient, while for a larger garden a compost bin over 600 litres is worthwhile.
