The cleanest hydroponic method does not require any growing medium. Unlike other methods, it does require a little more effort and attention, but the growth that plants show in these systems can sometimes be breathtaking!
Why is that? The plant root system is in constant contact with a steadily flowing nutrient solution. The roots are not fully submerged, so they take only as much as they need. The root system is usually higher than the level of nutrient-saturated water, allowing plants to develop in the nutrient solution and in the air at the same time. In the end, they have constant access to nutrients and oxygen, which results in fantastic yields, often up to 4 times higher than in the case of cultivation in soil or growing medium.
In practice, you will also appreciate the minimal operating costs and electricity consumption. In NFT systems you can use any fertilisers for hydroponics.
