Lamp holders
The lamp holder is used to secure the discharge lamp in the reflector. The by far most commonly used type E-40 is used to secure the vast majority of single-ended discharge lamps, with the exception of the very smallest ones. It can be used for both HPS and MH discharge lamps, as well as for CFL energy-saving lamp. However, everything has its exceptions, and the weakest discharge lamps usually have a different base. For example, a ceramic lamp holder of type E-27 is used to secure a 70W discharge lamp.
If you have equipment for classic discharge lamps, but would like to try growing plants under a CMH discharge lamp, do not worry. We have a ceramic reducer for you, thanks to which you can connect the new discharge lamp to the old reflector. There is also an original Adjust-A-Wings lamp holder.

Without the correct lamp holder, the discharge lamp will not connect to the reflector, so it is a good idea to choose a type that fits the base of your discharge lamp exactly. The most commonly used is the ceramic E-40, which you can use with the vast majority of HPS and MH discharge lamps, except for the very weakest ones. For example, 70W discharge lamps have a smaller base and need an E-27 lamp holder.
If you want to switch from a classic discharge lamp to CMH, but do not want to buy a new reflector, a ceramic reducer will help, allowing you to connect the new discharge lamp to the existing reflector without having to replace the entire light fitting.
For owners of Adjust-A-Wings reflectors, an original E-40 lamp holder is also available, both separately and with an IEC cable - suitable for all sizes of these reflectors (large, medium and small).
