List of products
Pipes and bongs mainly differ in how they handle smoke. Dry pipes (glass, metal and silicone pieces) are quick, portable and do not require water – making them suitable for travel and a quick draw. Water pipes, or bongs, draw smoke through water, which cools it and removes some impurities, resulting in a smoother and fuller draw.
What to consider when choosing
- Material – borosilicate glass provides the purest flavour and is easy to clean, silicone is practically indestructible and can withstand drops, while metal is the most compact for carrying.
- Size – small glass pipes and one-hitters are suitable for a quick hit in your pocket, while taller bongs around 20 to 30 cm provide a cooler, more voluminous draw.
- Filtration – a basic bong draws smoke through water only, while pieces with a percolator break it into tiny bubbles and filter it more intensively; an ice catcher cools the draw even further.
- Rig – a compact water pipe with thick glass and a banger designed for concentrates.
Brands you will find here
Premium medical-grade glass is represented by Higher Standards and Groove (ground-glass joints, rigs and straight tubes such as the Groove Straight Tube). Best Buds offers classic bulb-shaped ice bongs as well as models with matrix percolators, while Marley Natural combines glass with walnut wood in glass pipes and steamrollers. More affordable metal and silicone pieces are represented by Qnubu and Bongthai.
Do not forget accessories and maintenance
Proper operation requires filters and screens, mouthpieces, adapters and bong feet. Glass and silicone last longer when cleaned regularly – for this, use cleaning products and brushes. Prepare your herbs beforehand in a herb grinder.
Frequently asked questions
Is a pipe or a bong better?
It depends on your preferences. A dry pipe is the quickest and most compact solution, while a bong provides a significantly cooler and smoother draw thanks to the water, but it is larger and needs to be maintained.
What is a percolator used for?
A percolator breaks smoke into tiny bubbles, increasing its contact with the water. The draw is then cooler and smoother than with a simple bong without percolation.
Why choose borosilicate glass?
Borosilicate withstands temperature changes well, does not absorb odours and provides the purest flavour. It is also easy to clean, so it stays in good condition for a long time.
How do you clean a pipe or bong?
Ideally, clean it regularly before deposits harden. Use the appropriate cleaning products and a brush for the screens; with a bong, also change the water regularly.
