Pipes and bongs differ mainly in how they handle smoke. Dry pipes (glass pipes, metal and silicone pieces) are quick, portable and do not need water - they are suitable for travel and a quick draw. Water pipes, also known as bongs, lead smoke through water, which cools it and removes some impurities, making the draw smoother and fuller.
What to choose by
- Material - borosilicate glass gives the cleanest taste and is easy to clean, silicone is practically indestructible and can withstand a fall, metal is the most compact to carry.
- Size - small glass pipes and one-hitters can handle a quick hit in your pocket, taller bongs around 20 to 30 cm give a cooler and fuller draw.
- Filtration - a basic bong passes smoke through water only, pieces with a percolator break it into small bubbles and filter more intensively, an ice catcher cools the draw even more.
- Rig - a compact water pipe with thick glass and a banger designed for concentrates.

Is a pipe or a bong better?
It depends on what you prefer. A dry pipe is the quickest and most compact solution, while a bong, thanks to the water, gives a much cooler and smoother draw, but it is larger and needs to be maintained.
What is a percolator for?
A percolator breaks smoke into small bubbles, increasing its contact with water. The draw is then cooler and smoother than with a simple bong without percolation.
Why choose borosilicate glass?
Borosilicate handles temperature changes well, does not absorb odours and gives the cleanest taste. It is also easy to clean, so it stays in good condition for a long time.
How do you clean a pipe or bong?
Ideally regularly, before deposits harden. Use the cleaning products and a brush for screens; with a bong, also change the water regularly.
