Why pH is so important

The pH value is absolutely essential for plant health. It acts as a key that unlocks the roots’ ability to absorb vital nutrients from the solution. If the pH is too low or too high, plants suffer because they cannot take up nutrients, even though they are present in the nutrient solution. By maintaining the pH within the ideal range, usually between 5.5 and 6.5, you ensure that your annual plants use every drop of fertiliser - for example Soil Supermix or Hydro Supermix - to the maximum.

Dual-action composition

BioNova pH+ is not just an ordinary regulator. Its potassium hydroxide (KOH) based composition brings a dual benefit. While you effectively increase the pH, you also supply plants with potassium (K) - one of the three basic macronutrients. Potassium is indispensable especially during the flowering stage and fruit formation, where it is involved in sugar transport, enzyme activation and overall strengthens the vitality and quality of the harvest.

Safe and easy use

Working with pH regulators requires precision. BioNova pH+ contains a 24.5% concentration of potassium hydroxide, which is an intentional choice for safer and more user-friendly application. Unlike highly concentrated products, this product allows gradual and fine adjustments, thereby minimising the risk of overshooting the target pH value.

Instructions for use

• Preparing the solution: first add all fertilisers and additives to the water and mix the solution thoroughly.
• Measuring pH: use a pH metre to measure the current pH value of the prepared solution.
• Gradual addition: add BioNova pH+ in small doses (recommended 2-4 ml per 10 litres of water).
• Mixing and checking: after each dose, mix the solution again, wait a moment and measure the pH again. Repeat until you reach the required level.

Safety first

Although this product is safer than more concentrated alternatives, potassium hydroxide is still a corrosive substance. When handling the product, always use protective gloves and goggles to prevent possible injury.
