Detailed information

Product detailed description

Begrow® growing cube made of hydrophilic rockwool (mineral wool) with dimensions 100 x 100 x 65 mm has the same surface area as the high hundred, but a lower profile of 65 mm. It soaks through faster, drains better, and the small hole at the top is ready to receive a rooted plug or a young plant.

Key features

  • Balanced moisture - absorbs water within 25 seconds and maintains the ideal water-to-air ratio (water regulation 40-85 %).
  • Lower profile 65 mm - less water retention and better root aeration, a good choice for flood tables.
  • Strong and clean roots - vertical fibres guide roots downwards, the material is inert, sterile and does not bind fertilisers.
  • Reliable structure - density 80 kg/m3, porosity above 98 %, recovery capacity above 95 %.

How to use

Before planting, soak the cube thoroughly. Place a rooted propagation plug or seedling into the small hole and set the cube into the system or onto a tray. Thanks to the lower height of 65 mm, it soaks through faster and holds less excess water - ideal when you want a more airy root zone and watering under control.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference compared with the 100 x 100 x 100 mm cube?

The surface area is the same, only the height differs. This one is 65 mm - it holds less water, drains faster and aerates the roots more. The high hundred gives the roots more space for longer growth.

What do I place in the small hole?

A rooted plug or a young plant. For transplanting an entire smaller cube, choose the version with the large hole.

How do I prepare the cube?

Soak it until it is fully saturated (within 25 seconds). Then place the plant and water according to the schedule - rockwool is inert and does not bind nutrients.
