Product detailed description
Begrow® growing cube made of hydrophilic rockwool (mineral wool) with dimensions 100 x 100 x 65 mm has a wide opening on top. You can place the entire smaller cube with the rooted plant (cube-in-cube system) or a stronger cutting into the large hole - the plant continues to grow without transplant shock.
Key features
- Large hole - holds a smaller growing cube or a stronger stem, ideal for a smooth move up one size.
- Fast start - absorbs water in 25 seconds and maintains a balanced water-to-air ratio (water regulation 40-85 %).
- Healthy roots - the vertical fibre structure guides roots downwards, the material is inert and sterile, and does not bind fertilisers.
- Durable structure - density 80 kg/m3, porosity above 98 %, recovery capacity above 95 %.
How to use
Soak the cube before use until it is fully saturated. Place the smaller rooted cube (typically 75 x 75 mm) whole into the large hole so the roots can grow smoothly into the new block. This lets you transplant without disturbing the roots, so the plant does not lose momentum. You can also place a stronger cutting in it for rooting.
Frequently asked questions
What is the large hole for compared with the small one?
The large hole holds an entire smaller cube or a stronger stem - it is used for the cube-in-cube system and for moving up one size. The small hole is only for a thin plug or seedling.
Which cube fits in it?
Typically a rooted cube 75 x 75 x 65 mm. You place it in whole together with the plant and the roots grow into the new block.
Is it suitable for cuttings too?
Yes, the large opening also holds a stronger cutting well during rooting. However, for the first rooting of clones, a smaller plug is often used first.
