History and focus of the brand

• The original company General Hydroponics Europe (GHE) was founded in 1994 in France. It has recently been renamed (rebranded) to Terra Aquatica (T.A.). HERE, in a separate article, you can read all about what this change brings to customers.
• GHE was founded by Noucetta Kehdiová and the now legendary William Texier among growers, author of the well-known book Hydroponics for Everyone. You can find this publication, which we recommend to anyone starting out with hydroponics, in our e-shop both in Czech translation and in the English original. (Hydroponics for Everybody). It should be added that both founders are recognised and in demand in academic circles around the world.
• Both also gained international recognition before the company was founded, thanks to the White Owl WaterFarm hydroponic farm, where they grew crops for restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area that had Michelin stars in the early 1990s. Emphasis on the quality of the final harvest was therefore an inseparable part of their work from the very beginning.
• William Texier is an innovator who, with tireless energy and focus, developed new products and methods based on combining the power of hydroponic technology with the qualities and ecological sensitivity of organic (bio) methods, which are so often discussed today. This is also the philosophy of the brand.
• Both founders had the same vision from the start. To invent new techniques of modern cultivation, working only with the purest fertiliser components (many of them food grade) combined with the purest available organic (bio) additives.
• The global development of modern agriculture led both founders to change their view of nutrient solutions. William and Noucetta knew that all life functions in symbiosis, and so they created their products to enable the functioning of living nutrient solutions. This creates a new kind of cultivation, where plants and their surrounding environment are carefully integrated into one living whole. It is not just hydroponics and an organic approach to growing, but a kind of hybrid combining the best of both worlds. Pesticides are not needed when plants share an environment with beneficial organisms that protect them. Strong chemical additives used by most commercial growers have no place in a living system. A symbiotic cultivation system depends on the use of ecological and compatible additives and recipes. To better understand this method, the term BIOPONICS was introduced, which is now discussed all over the world and in which T.A. remains a leader!
