SANlight Undercanopy STIXX 3-80 is a three-module light for targeted illumination of the lower parts of plants, where the main light from above penetrates only limitedly. Placed low in the canopy, it increases photosynthesis activity in the lower zone, so even lower flowers gain mass instead of surviving in the shade. It delivers 191 µmol/s at 70 W in full spectrum, and IP68 protection handles humid operation.

Installation and power supply

The undercanopy version is placed low between plants on the undercanopy stand, which is purchased separately; alternatively, it can be attached using spacers or a mounting kit. Electrically it is the same light as the top-light, so it does not light on its own and needs a Driver Set STIXX 3/6 (200-910 W; powers 2 to 6 3-80 lights at full output).

How does the undercanopy version differ from the top-light model?

It is physically the same LED light with the same power and output - 70 W and 191 µmol/s. The difference is in use: it is mounted low and shines into the lower layers of plants, while the top-light hangs above the plants as the main lighting. The undercanopy light is added to the upper one, not replacing it.

How much undercanopy light should be added to the upper lighting?

Undercanopy is supplementary lighting, not a replacement for the main light. It is chosen according to canopy density and how deeply the upper light penetrates - for denser plants, it makes sense to add more lower lights. You can fine-tune the intensity with dimming on the driver. For continuous coverage of the area, SANlight also offers ready-made undercanopy sets.

Which driver does the undercanopy 3-80 need?

Driver Set STIXX 3/6 - it shares the same range with the 6-150 model. According to the official SANlight table, it powers 2 to 6 3-80 lights at full output (200 W two, 240 and 320 W three, 610 W four, 910 W six). Only 3-80 or only 6-150 may be connected to one driver, not both. The driver, cables and undercanopy stand are purchased separately.
