BioNova Open Top Coco Bag is a practical bag that also serves as a pot. It is filled with a mixture of compressed and dried coconut fibre - just add water and within moments you get a ready-made pot with approx. 12-13 l of coconut substrate.

How Open Top Coco Bag works

After adding approx. 5 l of water, the compressed substrate swells to a volume of 12-13 l. The plastic outer shell (pot) has cut-out drainage holes, which also serve as an oxygen supply to the roots throughout the growing cycle. The substrate is rinsed twice during production and has extra calcium and magnesium added.

Instructions for use

Unpack the bag and gradually add up to 5 l of water. Let the substrate swell, mix the blend thoroughly, and after approximately 30 minutes you will have 12-13 litres of substrate ready for use.

How to fertilise the substrate

Coconut substrate does not contain a reserve of nutrients on its own, so fertilise from the first watering. We recommend the two-part fertiliser Coco Forte A+B designed specifically for coconut substrates together with PK 13-14 throughout the flowering period. This substrate has extra calcium and magnesium added during production, so the risk of deficiency is lower; nevertheless, when watering with very soft or RO water, you can also supplement the substrate with Ca 15 and MgO 10.
