Shogun - Dosing Chart
SHOGUN - Dosing tables
How should you dose Shogun fertilisers? Here is the proven procedure!
- The dosage depends on the fertiliser range you have chosen according to the growing method and substrate.
- Dose Shogun fertilisers according to the table with regard to the growth stage in which the plant is currently located. The values stated in millilitres are intended to be mixed into one litre of water.
- Do not forget that in the final week of the growing cycle it is important to carry out the so-called flush or flushing. Thanks to flushing, you will achieve exceptionally healthy fruits with excellent taste, as no residues of salts or other undesirable substances will remain in your final harvest.
- The growing cycle in the manufacturer’s tables is divided into three development stages:
- Cuttings and seedlings (2 weeks)
- Vegetative growth or growth stage (4 weeks)
- Flowering stage (8 weeks)
- (The final week before harvest is always the above-mentioned flush, and therefore the watering contains no Shogun fertilisers!)
- There is also the electrical conductivity of the solution (EC), which needs to be measured. The recommended EC values are given in a separate row at the bottom of the table, which also takes tap water EC into account.
- Dosing the fertiliser according to the table and the manufacturer’s instructions minimises the risk of over-fertilisation. Nevertheless, we recommend continuously checking how the plants are doing during the growing cycle, as each of them has its own individual needs.
- Our TIP: For better watering and improved nutrient management, it is worth using filters and reverse osmosis units Growmax.
When to add and when to reduce?
- You may reduce the intensity of fertilisation for a while if you notice typical symptoms associated with an excess of nutrients. These are most often indicated by yellowing leaves, spots on their edges, or a white surface on the substrate.
- If you notice that, on the contrary, the plant has a lack of nutrients, it is advisable to start fertilising a little more. If the plant is growing unhealthily slowly and its leaves are smaller than is usual for the given species, it is probably undernourished. In such a case, you can try increasing the intensity of fertilisation and observe whether this has a positive effect on the plant and whether it starts to thrive better.
