Shogun Samurai Terra Bloom

When a plant in soil moves into flowering, it stops needing nitrogen for leaves and starts building mass from potassium and phosphorus. Shogun Samurai Terra Bloom is a single-component mineral base made exactly for this stage - no A and B, one bottle, one dose according to the table.

Why not continue with the grow bottle

The difference between Grow and Bloom is visible in the safety data sheets of both products. Terra Bloom contains ammonium nitrate in the 5 to 10 % range, while the grow version is 10 to 15 % - so the nitrogen content decreases. In contrast, potassium nitrate increases (5 to 10 % versus 3 to 5 %), magnesium nitrate (3 to 5 % versus 1 to 3 %) and potassium dihydrogen phosphate (3 to 5 % versus 1 to 3 %). Both versions also contain potassium sulphate. The direction is clear: less nitrogen, more potassium, phosphorus and magnesium. That is why Grow and Bloom are never mixed in one solution and why, in flowering, Samurai Terra Grow is no longer relied on.

The dose decreases in flowering

The dilution for the entire Samurai Terra range is 1 to 4 ml per litre, but in flowering this is not a constant - it is a descending curve. According to our dosing table, in hard water you start at 3 to 4 ml/l in the first three weeks of flowering, in the fourth week it is reduced to 2 to 3 ml/l and in the fifth to sixth week to 1 to 2 ml/l; in soft water the doses are one step higher (4, then 3 to 4, then 2 to 3 ml/l). EC peaks in the fourth week at 1.8 to 2.5 and then falls to 1.2 to 1.5. The recommended pH of the solution is 5.5 to 6.5. Depending on the fertiliser content in the substrate, apply nutrients either with every watering or every second to third watering.

Who is added to the flowering programme

Terra Bloom is the base to which the rest is added during flowering. From the first week, Sumo Active Boost is added according to our table (2 ml/l), and from the fourth week PK Warrior 9/18 (1 ml/l, in the fifth to sixth week 0.5 ml/l). In the eighth week Terra Bloom ends and is replaced by Dragon Force at a dose of 4 ml/l. The last week before harvest is for flushing with clean water. It is precisely because of this layering that the base dose decreases - the concentration of the solution is calculated together, not bottle by bottle.

Light Mix soil and CalMag

One thing the dosing table does not say out loud: when growing in Light Mix, Shogun CalMag is always recommended with Terra fertilisers, at a dose of 0.5 to 1 ml/l. Otherwise, Samurai Terra works in all types of soil including Terra Soil, All-Mix, Batmix and Light Mix.

SmartZen

The Samurai Terra range contains the SmartZen biostimulant package, which increases photosynthesis efficiency and nutrient uptake. Shogun states that commercial tests showed 6-8 % higher yields than a fertiliser with the same formulation without SmartZen; the brand's website speaks of up to 8 %. The methodology is not published, so take this as a reason why Samurai is a higher class than a simple mineral base - not as a guarantee of a specific number.

Frequently asked questions

When should I switch from Terra Grow to Terra Bloom?

With the start of the flowering phase. According to our dosing table, Samurai Terra Grow is no longer used in flowering and is fully replaced by Terra Bloom. The transition is complete - the two fertilisers are never mixed in one solution, because each has a composition tuned to its own stage.

Why should I reduce the dose in the middle of flowering?

Because PK Warrior 9/18 and Sumo Active Boost have been added to the solution in the meantime and the total concentration adds up. Our table therefore reduces Terra Bloom from 3 to 4 ml/l to 2 to 3 ml/l in the fourth week and to 1 to 2 ml/l in the fifth to sixth week. Monitor EC, not the number of bottles.

I have hard water, do I need a different bottle?

No. Samurai Terra is a universal product for hard and soft water - only the dose changes, with soft water the dose is one step higher. Of the entire Shogun range, only the Samurai Hydro line has a special version for soft and hard water.

Do I need CalMag with Terra Bloom as well?

If you are growing in Light Mix, yes - with Terra fertilisers, CalMag is always recommended, at a dose of 0.5 to 1 ml per litre. The same applies with soft or osmosis water (EC 0 to 0.2). With medium-hard water around EC 0.4, the feeding plan already takes it into account and you do not need to add it.
