NFT Gro Tank is a hydroponic system based on the NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) principle - a thin film of nutrient solution continuously flows around the plant roots, so they have constant access to nutrients and oxygen. Nutriculture states that this can achieve significantly faster growth than growing in soil or in standard pots.
When choosing a size, mainly follow the dimensions of the grow tent and the number of plants. The smallest NFT Gro Tank 205 (69.5 x 40 x 19.5 cm) is suitable for a few plants in a smaller box. NFT Gro Tank 90 (90 x 90 x 30 cm) holds 2 to 5 plants and fits tents with a 100 x 100 cm base. For growing across a full square metre, the NFT Gro Tank PRO 1m2 (GN 100) with a 120 x 106.5 cm area is intended, as well as the larger GN 150, GN 424, GN 604 and GN 901 models for larger grow rooms.
The system works on the principle of continuous recirculation of the nutrient solution - the solution is pumped into the tray, flows around the roots and returns to the tank. For smooth top-up of the level, the Auto Top-Up accessory is useful, as it monitors the solution volume even without your assistance.
