The most powerful Urban Premium carbon odour filter with a 160 mm flange for large grow rooms and strong extract. Australian RC412 carbon (1050 IAV) and a long 60 cm body handle an optimal flow of 580 m3/h (max. 870 m3/h).

Detailed information

Product detailed description

Reliable peace from odour even with the strongest extract - carbon filter 160 mm Urban Premium is the largest filter in the range for large grow rooms. The 160 mm flange, optimal flow of 580 m3/h (max. 870 m3/h) and long 60 cm body can handle even powerful ventilation.

How the 160 mm carbon filter works

Odour is captured by a layer of activated carbon through which air passes during extraction. It uses Australian granular carbon RC412 with a value of 1050 IAV, evenly distributed around the entire circumference of the filter in a bed up to 4 cm thick - the more carbon and the longer the contact with air, the cleaner the air at the outlet. The carbon layer is covered by a fine fabric, so the filter does not create dust and operation remains clean. The conical aerodynamic base distributes airflow evenly through the entire layer, which increases filtration efficiency and overall service life. The aluminium front and base keep the weight low (8 kg) and protect the filter from mechanical damage.

Why the largest filter pays off

The long 60 cm body holds the most activated carbon in the entire range, and that pays off twice: the filter has the highest odour capture capacity and at the same time the longest service life, because there is more carbon and it wears out more slowly. For a large grow room, this means practical peace - less frequent replacement and the certainty that even a strong extract of 580 to 870 m3/h will not let odour out. The aluminium front and base keep the weight at 8 kg despite the large volume of carbon and protect the filter from damage.

For which extract and space

The filter is intended for large tents and grow rooms with the strongest extract. The filter, extract fan and ducting must all have the same 160 mm flange. Carbon creates resistance to air and reduces the real flow of the system, so choose a fan with a reserve above the space requirement. It suits an extract with an optimal flow of around 580 m3/h (max. 870 m3/h). For connection, use ventilation ducting 160 mm. Smaller variants from the Urban Premium range:

Service life and maintenance

The carbon usually lasts 10 to 15 months, but the exact time depends on the real flow and humidity - the higher the flow and the more humid the air, the faster the carbon wears out. Above roughly 70% relative humidity, the carbon suffers, so operate the filter in reasonable humidity. You can extend the service life with the washable external pre-filter included in the package - it captures dust and dirt, so the carbon does not clog. Simply wash the pre-filter as needed and put it back.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the 160 mm filter intended for?

For large grow tents and grow rooms with the strongest extract, where the fan works with a flow of around 580 to 870 m3/h. It is the largest and heaviest filter in the range (8 kg, 60 cm body) with the highest carbon capacity. For smaller spaces, variants with a 125 or 150 mm flange are sufficient.

Is a large filter worth it even if I have a smaller extract?

If your fan and ducting have a 160 mm flange, it is worth it: more carbon means longer service life and greater certainty of odour capture. But if you have a 125 or 150 mm extract, choose a filter with the same flange - the filter, fan and ducting must have the same diameter, otherwise the system will not seal properly.

What fan do I need for the filter?

A powerful extract fan with a 160 mm flange, because the filter itself does not move air and does not work without a fan. Choose a model with an optimal flow of around 580 to 870 m3/h and with an additional reserve, because the carbon reduces the real flow of the system. Suitable models can be found among the fans.

How long does the carbon last?

Thanks to the large volume of carbon, usually at the upper end of the 10 to 15 month range, but the exact time depends on operation. Service life decreases with higher flow and especially with higher humidity - above roughly 70% relative humidity, the carbon suffers. The washable pre-filter in the package protects the carbon and extends its service life.
