Product detailed description
The most popular choice for a home grow tent – the 125 mm carbon filter Urban Premium with an optimal airflow of up to 360 m3/h keeps the air odour-free in a medium-sized setup. The medium of three variants with a 125 mm flange offers a balanced compromise between size, capacity and performance.
How the 125 mm carbon filter works
Odours are captured by a layer of activated carbon through which the air passes during extraction. Australian granular carbon RC412 with a value of 1050 IAV is used, evenly distributed around the entire circumference of the filter in a bed up to 4 cm thick – the more carbon there is and the longer the contact with the air, the cleaner the air at the outlet. The carbon layer is covered with a fine fabric, so the filter does not release dust and operation remains clean. The conical aerodynamic base distributes the airflow evenly through the entire layer, increasing filtration efficiency and overall service life. The aluminium front and base keep the weight low (2 kg) and protect the filter from mechanical damage.
For which extraction system and space
This variant is the golden mean of the 125 mm range – it is suitable for standard home tents with medium-strength extraction. The filter, extract fan and ducting must all have the same 125 mm flange. Carbon creates resistance to the air and reduces the actual airflow of the setup, so choose a fan with reserve capacity. It is suitable for extraction with an optimal airflow of around 240 m3/h (max. 360 m3/h). Connect the setup using ventilation ducting 125 mm. Smaller and more powerful counterparts can be found in the Urban Premium range:
- 100 mm filter – optimal 160 m3/h (max. 240 m3/h)
- 125 mm filter – optimal 160 m3/h (max. 240 m3/h)
- 125 mm filter – optimal 240 m3/h (max. 360 m3/h) – this filter
- 125 mm filter – optimal 370 m3/h (max. 550 m3/h)
- 150 mm filter – optimal 460 m3/h (max. 690 m3/h)
- 160 mm filter – optimal 580 m3/h (max. 870 m3/h)
Service life and maintenance
The carbon usually lasts 10 to 15 months, but the exact period depends on the actual airflow and humidity – the higher the airflow and the more humid the air, the faster the carbon wears out. At above approximately 70% relative humidity, the carbon suffers, so operate the filter at a sensible humidity level. You can extend its service life with the washable external pre-filter included in the package – it captures dust and impurities, preventing the carbon from becoming clogged. Simply wash the pre-filter as needed and put it back in place.

Frequently asked questions
Which of the three 125 mm filters is right for me?
The deciding factor is your fan’s airflow. This medium variant handles an optimal 240 m3/h (max. 360 m3/h) and is the most common choice for a home tent. If you have weaker extraction or a low tent, choose the variant up to 240 m3/h; for powerful extraction, choose the variant up to 550 m3/h. All of them have a 125 mm flange.
What size tent is the filter suitable for?
It is suitable for standard home grow tents with medium-strength extraction, where the fan operates at an airflow of around 240 to 360 m3/h. The exact size is determined by the fan’s performance, not the filter dimensions – therefore always match the filter, fan and ducting using the same 125 mm flange.
Which fan do I need for the filter?
An extract fan with a 125 mm flange, because the filter does not move air itself and will not work without a fan. Choose a model with an optimal airflow of around 240 to 360 m3/h and additional reserve capacity, as the carbon reduces the actual airflow of the setup. Suitable models can be found in the fans category.
How long does the carbon last?
Usually 10 to 15 months, but the period varies according to operating conditions. Service life decreases with higher airflow and especially with higher humidity – above approximately 70% relative humidity, the carbon wears out faster. The washable pre-filter included in the package captures dust and extends the carbon’s service life.
