For automation of growing processes to make sense, you need to gain control over the output of individual appliances. That is exactly what a speed controller is for, allowing you to control the output of fans, LED lighting or even ballasts.

Let us start with the simplest option. The rheostatic power controller Varispeed dimmer is sold individually as an inexpensive way to control the speed of a smaller intake or extract fan. Simply plug it into the socket and you can start controlling it straight away.

Among slightly more advanced devices, we often see in the basket, for example, the smooth voltage controller from the Malapa brand. Looking at it from the completely opposite end, the transformer controller with 5 speed levels is able to handle and regulate the speed of several motors at once.

The devices then differ from each other according to what they use to regulate speed. The truly smart ones can control an appliance according to multiple parameters.
