Step controllers automatically adjust the speed of the connected fan up or down in six steps according to the set temperature and hysteresis. The advantage over smooth control is that at lower speeds the fan does not produce unpleasant buzzing sounds, which appear with some smooth controllers.
Our range includes controllers according to the power of the connected fan - GSE Step transformer models are available in versions for 2.5A and 8A current, while Can-Fan Satellite 4A is a manual controller designed directly for controlling AC motors of single-speed fans from the Can-Fan, Max Fan and Iso Max brands.
When choosing a controller, it is essential to check the current draw of your fan and select a controller with sufficient reserve - an under-rated controller could restrict the fan or overheat.
