Input power supply for STIXX 2-60 sets

SANlight Driver Set STIXX 2, 160W is the smallest power driver in the STIXX 2 range - Smart Driver - which powers the linear STIXX 2-60 luminaires. These are suitable above seedlings, cuttings and in vertical or multi-level installations where even but not overly intense light is needed. The driver is intended exclusively for the STIXX 2 range.

The STIXX 2-60 luminaire itself is only an LED luminaire without power supply - to operate it, you need this driver, and STIXX 2-60 luminaires are purchased separately. The driver package does not include any luminaires, distribution or extension cables.

How many luminaires it can handle and how Smart Driver works

At full power, the 160W driver can handle three STIXX 2-60 luminaires - this is stated in the official SANlight table. Smart Driver Technology itself detects how many luminaires are connected: up to three luminaires each run at full power, while the fourth is only lit at reduced power because the driver divides power between them all. Technically it works, but for maximum light, stay with three.

Termination cap and dimming

Unused DC ports on the driver must be fitted with a termination cap - without it, there is a risk of damage to the system, so treat it as a mandatory part of every set-up. Dimming is done directly on the driver: connect the magnetic M-Dimmer or Bluetooth Dimmer SANlight to its blue connector, or a 0-10V control signal. The luminaires then dim together.

Protection and installation

The luminaire has IP68 protection on the M19 connector, the driver mains plug is not water-resistant and its connection should be kept away from moisture. Do not stack drivers on top of each other and leave at least 10 mm between them.

You can connect more luminaires, but then the power is divided between all of them and the luminaires shine at reduced brightness. For maximum light, therefore, count on three luminaires; only go above that knowingly.

Can I connect different STIXX models to one driver?

No. Only identical luminaires from the same STIXX range may be connected to one driver - for example STIXX 2-60 with STIXX 2-60. The manufacturer prohibits combinations such as STIXX 2-60 and STIXX 3-80 on a shared driver. For more luminaires of the same model, use M19 extension cables and splitters, and fit unused ports with a termination cap.

What is the termination cap for and do I need it?

Yes, it is mandatory. The driver has more DC ports than the number of luminaires you would usually connect, and every unused port must be closed with a termination cap (AI5010). Without it, there is a risk of damage to the system. It is an inexpensive but essential part - the manufacturer does not supply the cap together with the luminaires or the driver, it is purchased separately.
