When you know you will run the entire cycle in soil, it is most practical to have the programme together – and, above all, not run out of base nutrients in the middle of the flowering phase. Shogun Samurai TERRA Multipack is a complete Shogun fertiliser set for growing in soil: two 1 L base nutrients – one fertiliser for growth and the other for flowering – plus six accessories covering the cycle from soaking a propagation cube to the final ripening week. The set is intended exclusively for soil.

What is included

• 1x Samurai Terra Grow 1 L – a one-part mineral base for vegetative growth in soil.

The different sizes correspond to consumption. The base nutrient is dosed at every watering throughout its respective phase, so it is used in the greatest quantity by far – which is why Terra Grow and Terra Bloom are supplied in 1 L bottles. The accessories are either used for a short time (Start only during the cutting and seedling phase) or in small doses (Katana Roots 0.2 ml per litre of watering solution, PK Warrior 0.5 to 1 ml per litre), so a 250 ml bottle still makes a substantial amount of solution.

How the set covers the cycle

The bottle selection follows Shogun’s soil dosing table week by week. During the cutting and seedling phase (2 weeks), Shogun Start is used at 4 ml per litre and Katana Roots at 5 ml per litre for soaking the cubes. During vegetative growth (4 weeks), Samurai Terra Grow is introduced, Start ends completely and Katana Roots is reduced to 0.2 ml per litre. At the start of flowering (8 weeks), Terra Grow is replaced by Terra Bloom – the two are never used in the same solution – and Sumo Active Boost is added (2 ml per litre). In the 4th week of flowering, PK Warrior 9/18 is introduced (1 ml per litre, 0.5 ml per litre in weeks 5 and 6) and Katana Roots is discontinued. In week 8, the other products end and Dragon Force is introduced at 4 ml per litre for ripening. The final week is a flush with clean water so that no salt residues remain in the harvest.

CalMag is included in the set as insurance against calcium and magnesium deficiency – it is particularly useful with soft water or reverse-osmosis water and in lighter soil mixes such as Light Mix, where calcium and magnesium cannot be relied upon. It is dosed into watering solution at 0 to 1 ml per litre during both growth and flowering, and as a foliar spray at 15 ml per litre at pH 5 to 7 once a week until the condition improves. Calcium deficiency can be identified by twisted or weak new shoots with brown necrotic spots on the tips and edges of the leaves; magnesium deficiency by lower leaves that turn yellow between the veins, often with rusty speckling.

TERRA Multipack, 3-Pack, or COCO?

Three sets, three different situations. 3-Pack: TERRA Starter Pack is a smaller version of this set: both soil bases and Sumo Active Boost, all in 250 ml bottles and without the other accessories – a good start when you are trying the range for the first time. TERRA Multipack has 1 L bases and adds Start, roots, CalMag, a PK booster and ripening support, so no part of the programme is missing. COCO Multipack is its counterpart for coco: it contains the same accessories, but instead of two soil bases it includes a two-part base with AquaZen, developed for coco fibre. Choose according to what you are growing in.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there two 1 L bottles of base nutrient in the set?

Because Samurai Terra has a different bottle for each phase. Terra Grow is a one-part base for vegetative growth, while Terra Bloom is for flowering – and they are never mixed in the same solution. Only one is used at a time, depending on which phase the plant is in. At the start of flowering, Grow ends completely and is replaced by Bloom.

Is 1 L of base nutrient enough for the entire cycle?

It depends on how much you water. The dilution rate for the Samurai Terra range is 1 to 4 ml per litre, so one 1 L bottle makes approximately 250 to 1,000 litres of watering solution. Terra Grow is used for four weeks of vegetative growth, while Terra Bloom is used for eight weeks of flowering. For one or two home grow tents, 1 L of each provides a comfortable reserve.

Is the set also suitable for coco?

No. The Samurai Terra range was developed for soil and takes into account the chemistry of nutrient availability in soil. For coco, Shogun has its own two-part base with AquaZen, which distributes the solution through the coco fibre – it can be found in COCO Multipack. The accessories are the same in both sets; only the bases differ.
