When you know you will run the whole cycle in soil, the most practical option is to have the programme together - and above all not to be left in the middle of flowering without a base. Shogun Samurai TERRA Multipack is a complete set of Shogun fertilisers for growing in soil: two base fertilisers of one litre each - one fertiliser for growth, the other for flowering - plus six additives that cover the cycle from soaking the propagation cube to the final week of ripening. The set is intended exclusively for soil.

What is in the pack

The difference in sizes corresponds to consumption. The bases are dosed with every watering throughout their phase, so they are used in by far the largest quantities - that is why Terra Grow and Terra Bloom are one litre each. The additives either run briefly (Start only in the cuttings and seedlings phase) or in small doses (Katana Roots 0.2 ml per litre in the watering solution, PK Warrior 0.5 to 1 ml per litre), so you still mix plenty of solution from a 250 ml bottle.

How the set covers the cycle

The bottle composition follows Shogun's dosing table for soil, week by week. In the cuttings and seedlings phase (2 weeks), Shogun Start runs at 4 ml per litre and Katana Roots at 5 ml per litre for soaking the cubes. In vegetative growth (4 weeks), Samurai Terra Grow comes in, Start ends completely and Katana Roots drops to 0.2 ml per litre. With the start of flowering (8 weeks), Terra Grow is replaced by Terra Bloom - the two are never used in the same solution - and Sumo Active Boost is added (2 ml per litre). In the 4th week of flowering, PK Warrior 9/18 is added (1 ml per litre, in weeks 5 and 6 0.5 ml per litre) and Katana Roots is discontinued. In week 8, the other products end and Dragon Force starts at 4 ml per litre for ripening. The final week is a flush with clean water so that no salt residues remain in the crop.

CalMag is included in the set as a safeguard against calcium and magnesium deficiencies - you will especially appreciate it in soft water or water treated by reverse osmosis, and in lighter soil mixes such as Light Mix, where you cannot rely on calcium and magnesium. It is dosed into the watering solution at 0 to 1 ml per litre during growth and flowering, and as a foliar spray at 15 ml per litre at pH 5 to 7 once a week until the condition is corrected. You can recognise a calcium deficiency by twisted or weak new shoots with brown necrotic spots on the tips and edges of the leaves; a magnesium deficiency by lower leaves that turn yellow between the veins, often with rusty speckling.

TERRA Multipack, 3-Pack, or COCO?

Three sets, three different situations. 3-Pack: TERRA Starter Pack is a smaller version of this set: both soil bases and Sumo Active Boost, all in 250 ml bottles and without the other additives - a good start when you are just trying the range. TERRA Multipack has one-litre bases and adds start, roots, CalMag, PK booster and ripening, so your programme does not drop out anywhere. COCO Multipack is its twin for coco: it has the same additives, but instead of two soil bases it contains one two-part base with AquaZen, developed for coconut fibre. You choose according to what you are growing in.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there two one-litre base bottles in the set?

Because Samurai Terra has a different bottle for each phase. Terra Grow is a one-part base for vegetative growth, Terra Bloom for flowering - and they are never mixed in the same solution. Only one of them is used at a time, depending on which phase the plant is in. With the start of flowering, Grow ends completely and Bloom replaces it.

Will one litre of base be enough for the whole cycle?

It depends on how much you water. The dilution rate of the Samurai Terra range is 1 to 4 ml per litre, so from one one-litre bottle you can mix roughly 250 to 1,000 litres of watering solution. Terra Grow runs for four weeks of vegetative growth and Terra Bloom for eight weeks of flowering. For one to two home tents, one litre of each is a comfortable reserve.

Is the set suitable for coco too?

No. The Samurai Terra range is developed for soil and takes into account the chemistry of nutrient availability in soil. For coco, Shogun has its own two-part base with AquaZen, which distributes the solution through the coconut fibre - you will find it in the COCO Multipack. The additives are the same in both sets; only the base differs.
