Product detailed description
Of all Shogun products, this is the only one you do not mix. Shogun Geisha Foliar is a foliar fertiliser supplied ready for immediate use: it is not diluted, its pH is not adjusted, you simply pour it into a sprayer and spray. It works in both the growth and flowering phases.
When to spray: that is the whole trick
The most important sentence in the whole description: do not spray under strong lights - leaf burn may occur. The ideal moment is just before the lights go off or immediately after they come on. Apply as a fine mist to both sides of the leaves, every two weeks from the growth phase until flowering. Consumption is approximately 300 to 375 ml per square metre, depending on how dense your crop is.
Two phases, two different effects
Geisha Foliar has a formulation that works differently depending on when you use it. In the vegetative phase, it produces more flowers, while also supporting the plant's metabolism and increasing water absorption. During flowering, fruit and flower growth then increases - so more flowers if you apply it earlier, and larger flowers if you apply it later. It stimulates metabolic pathways and increases fertility and crop quality. Shogun states that it stimulates an increased number of flowers by up to 5 %; the methodology is not published, so take this as the brand's claim, not a guaranteed figure.
What is in the bottle
The active component is boron and bioactive stimulants; the safety data sheet quantifies boric acid at below 0.25 %. The product pH is 6.5 to 7.0 - so you do not adjust it, it is mixed to a range that leaves can tolerate. Geisha is compatible with soil, coco and hydroponics because it does not enter the irrigation solution at all. The smallest pack is 750 ml and, according to our range, it is supplied straight with a sprayer; larger volumes are 5, 10 and 25 litres.
Where Geisha fits in the programme
Geisha is an additive, not a base nutrient - it will not replace your medium-specific base or CalMag. Do not confuse it with foliar application of CalMag: that is a rescue measure for calcium and magnesium deficiency at a dose of 15 ml/l once a week, whereas Geisha is a regular support spray every two weeks. Among flowering additives, Sumo Active Boost is also sprayed on the leaves (2 ml/l at the start of flowering and again after 28 days).
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to dilute Geisha Foliar?
No. It is supplied ready for immediate use - it is not diluted with water and its pH is not adjusted, it is set to 6.5 to 7.0. Pour it into a sprayer and spray. The 750 ml pack is supplied with a sprayer.
When is the best time to spray?
Just before the lights go off or immediately after they come on. Avoid spraying under strong lights - leaf burn may occur. Spray as a fine mist on both sides of the leaves, repeating every two weeks from the growth phase until flowering.
How much Geisha will I use?
Allow approximately 300 to 375 ml per square metre of crop per application. The exact amount depends on how developed the plants are and how densely they stand. The aim is to cover both sides of the leaves with a fine mist, not to drench the plant.
When should I use it - in growth or in flowering?
You can use it in both phases, you will just get a different result. In the vegetative phase it leads to the formation of a larger number of flowers and supports metabolism and water uptake; during flowering it increases fruit and flower growth. Application is safe in both phases, the interval remains two weeks.
Exact dosing for individual ranges can be found in the Shogun dosing table.
