Growing in soil has a simple core: one base for growth, another for flowering, and something that adds quality during bloom. Shogun 3-Pack: TERRA Starter Pack is exactly this trio in one pack - a fertiliser set that takes the plant through the entire cycle in soil, from the first week of vegetative growth to the final weeks of flowering. It is intended exclusively for soil; the Samurai Terra range is not for coco or hydroponics.

What is in the pack

The set contains three 250 ml bottles:

• 1x Samurai Terra Grow 250 ml - a one-part mineral base for vegetative growth in soil. It mixes on its own, without a second component.
• 1x Samurai Terra Bloom 250 ml - a base for the flowering phase, with a composition fine-tuned for blooming.
• 1x Sumo Active Boost 250 ml - a biostimulant based on triacontanol for flowering.

Golden rule: Grow, or Bloom - never both

Terra Grow and Terra Bloom each have a composition fine-tuned for their own phase and are never mixed in one solution. During vegetative growth, Grow is used, and when flowering starts, Bloom fully replaces it. Both bottles are universal for hard and soft water - you are not buying a special version, only changing the dose. The dilution rate of the Samurai Terra range is 1 to 4 ml per litre: in soft water, the dose is higher than in hard water, and it increases as the cycle progresses. Samurai Terra is made for all types of soil substrates including Terra Soil, All-Mix, Batmix and Light Mix.

Where Sumo Active Boost fits in the cycle

Sumo Active Boost is not a third base - it is a biostimulant added to flowering nutrition, not instead of it. It is an emulsion concentrate with the natural substance triacontanol and a plant extract; it contains auxins, cytokinins, brassinosteroids, vitamins and amino acids. It increases water and nutrient uptake, photosynthesis and the content of sugars, proteins and aromatic substances in the harvest. It is applied from the start of flowering and runs for the full eight weeks of bloom, at a dose of 1 to 2 ml per litre into the tank or watering solution. Our dosing chart for soil keeps it at 2 ml per litre and reduces it to 1.5 ml per litre in the seventh week. The emulsion technology keeps it stable in the tank for up to 14 days, so it does not ferment or clog drippers; that is why it is also suitable for irrigation systems, not just hand watering.

3-Pack, or TERRA Multipack?

Both sets are aimed at soil and differ in scope. The 3-Pack is an entry trio in 250 ml bottles: a growth base, a flowering base and one biostimulant - enough to take the plant through the entire nutrition cycle. Samurai TERRA Multipack has both bases in 1 litre bottles and adds starter nutrition, a root stimulator, CalMag, a PK booster and a ripening product, i.e. the full Shogun soil programme. The 3-Pack makes sense when you are just trying the range or growing on a small scale; the Multipack is for when you know you will stay with Shogun and want the supplements too.

Frequently asked questions

Can I mix Terra Grow and Terra Bloom together?

No. Each has a composition fine-tuned for its own phase and the clear rule applies: use either Grow or Bloom, never both in one solution. Terra Grow runs through the whole vegetative phase and is fully replaced by Terra Bloom when flowering starts. Mixing both at once will not help the plant, it will only upset the nutrient ratio in the solution.

I have hard water, do I need a different bottle?

No. Samurai Terra Grow and Terra Bloom are universal products for hard and soft water - only the dose differs, not the product. In soft water, the dose is higher than in hard water; the exact weekly figures are in the dosing chart. The only product line from the Shogun range that has separate versions for soft and hard water is Samurai Hydro.

What is missing from the set for a complete programme?

The trio covers nutrition from vegetative growth to flowering, but it does not include the cutting and seedling stage or any supplements. Starter nutrition and a root stimulator can be found in 2-Pack: Propagation Pack. Supplements - calcium with magnesium, silicon, a PK booster for the middle flowering stage and a ripening product - are bought separately, or you get them straight away in the TERRA Multipack.
