Aeroponics for sturdier plants

CultiMate AeroFarm 3" (formerly sold as GHE AeroFarm) is an aeroponic system for 1 to 5 plants with larger 3" baskets. Plants are held in net baskets and their roots hang freely in the chamber, where they are sprayed with nutrient solution by nozzles. It eliminates heavy, suffocating substrates and is suitable for mother plants as well as full growing cycles.

How AeroFarm works

It is a substrate aeroponics system with a shared 45 l tank (the same as with CultiMate L). The nozzles spray nutrient solution directly onto the freely hanging roots, giving them maximum oxygen and nutrients. Clay pebbles serve at most as a few support pieces. The larger 3" baskets also hold a plant with a more substantial stem and root ball securely.

The box is rotationally moulded in France from recycled plastic with light and UV shielding, which prevents algae in the tank. Almost indestructible and easy to clean.

Which basket size to choose

The 3" version with larger baskets is intended for sturdier plants that need firmer support. If you mainly grow cuttings and smaller seedlings that you want to hold more of, choose AeroFarm 2" with 5 cm diameter baskets. If you already have CultiMate L (AquaFarm), you can convert it to aeroponics with the 3" conversion kit.

What is the difference between AeroFarm 2" and 3"?

They differ in basket size. The 2" version has baskets with a 5 cm diameter and is suitable for cuttings and smaller seedlings, of which you can fit more. The 3" version has larger baskets (approx. 7.5 cm) and holds sturdier plants with a more substantial stem better. The box, 45 l tank and aeroponic principle remain the same.

Do I need clay pebbles in AeroFarm 3"?

Practically not. Aeroponics sprays the roots directly with nozzles, so the substrate is replaced by air and the sprayed solution. You can use a few pieces of clay pebbles only as support, so that the seedling stands straight in the basket. The roots thus remain aerated and have a constant supply of nutrients.
