Natural pest control products are preparations and aids that protect plants without synthetic chemicals - they are based on plant extracts, soaps, oils and physical traps. They are suitable for growers who care about a gentle approach, as well as for treatment just before harvest, when harsh chemicals are not appropriate.
How to choose according to the pest and mode of action
First identify the type of pest and then choose the form of protection:
- Sprays for sucking insects - against aphids, spider mites and whiteflies, neem-based preparations (NeemAzal) or natural solutions from AgroBio INPORO and Neudorff work well; they act by contact and break down quickly.
- Herbal mixtures - for example, the Natura herbal mixture for spider mites strengthens the plant and repels pests naturally.
- Sticky boards and traps - yellow and blue sticky boards and arrows catch flying insects and also serve as an indication of when pests are arriving.

Frequently asked questions
Are natural products effective enough?
With timely and repeated use, yes - natural products often act by contact, so it is advisable to repeat the treatment after a few days and also target the underside of the leaves, where pests sit.
Can I use them shortly before harvest?
Most natural products have a short or zero pre-harvest interval, so they are suitable even shortly before harvest. Always check the instructions of the specific manufacturer on the packaging.
How do yellow sticky boards work?
The yellow colour attracts flying insects (winged aphids, fungus gnats, whiteflies), which stick to the adhesive layer. They are used both for trapping and for early warning that pests have appeared in the planting.
Do natural products work on fungus gnats in the substrate?
Yes, there are targeted biological products for fungus gnat larvae in the soil, and yellow sticky boards help to catch the adults. It is effective to combine both.
