On the way

Watercress sprouts have a spicy, distinctive flavour and are a rich source of vitamins C, PP, P, B and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, sulphur and other trace elements. They are also a strong antioxidant. They strengthen the body and improve the condition of skin, nails and hair. Watercress sprouts stimulate appetite and digestion, lower blood sugar levels and are therefore especially suitable for diabetics.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

This unobtrusive little plant can do a great deal. That is how watercress could be described. Its anti-inflammatory effects help with problems of the bladder, kidneys and respiratory tract, and thanks to its high content of vitamins and minerals it also helps strengthen immunity. Watercress is a rich source of vitamins C, A, B1, B3, K and E. Among the minerals contained, calcium, sodium and iron are worth mentioning.

In addition, watercress can stimulate the activity of the gallbladder and liver and also helps proper digestion. It is therefore ideal as an addition to fattier and harder-to-digest dishes.

For convenient microgreens germination, use Mungo - germination tray

The germination process in jars and trays does not differ much in this case.

Watercress seeds do not need to be soaked beforehand, which makes the work easier and speeds up the whole process. Keep the jar or tray with the seeds at a temperature of around 20 °C and do not expose it to direct sunlight. Do not forget to rinse the seeds with water at least twice a day (multi-tier germination trays are designed so that it is always enough to pour water only into the top tier), and during the day you can mist them a few times. In summer, the seeds will need more water than in winter, but you will certainly notice that yourselves.

Within 4–6 days you will have watercress sprouts ready for consumption. Then all you need to do is rinse them with water and add them to a salad, sandwich or any other dish.

If you do not process the sprouts immediately, you can store them in the fridge for a few more days.

You can also grow watercress in another form than just as sprouts and microgreens. Simply plant it in the usual way. Growing watercress in a pot is just as easy as germinating it. You only need to make sure that the substrate never dries out and at the same time is not soaked with a large amount of water. Regular misting should therefore be a matter of course, thanks to which the seeds will germinate and grow quickly.
