Product detailed description
Prima Klima K2603 - clean extraction without odour (160 mm flange)
The long K2603 with a 160 mm connection offers up to one year of operation on one fill thanks to four kilos of charcoal. The Prima Klima K2603 carbon odour filter from the Eco Line range captures odour molecules in a 3 cm deep bed of highly active charcoal, so only clean air without odour leaves the extract. The 160 mm flange connects to ducting and a fan of the same diameter - keep the filter, ducting and fan at the same 160 mm diameter. It can handle, approximately, a 120x120 cm tent or a smaller grow room at a flow rate of up to 900 m3/h (ideally around 700 m3/h).
How the carbon filter works
Activated charcoal works like a battery: air passes through the charcoal bed and organic odour molecules are captured in its microporous structure. Quality is determined by the CTC value and iodine number (how many substances the charcoal absorbs), together with the thickness of the bed - the longer the air is in contact with the charcoal, the better the odour is removed. Prima Klima fills the Eco Line with anthracite CTC75 pellets (3 mm), which have low pressure resistance and also cope well with higher humidity. Once exhausted, the charcoal can be topped up or replaced; the whole filter is not thrown away.
Technical parameters
- Flange diameter: 160 mm
- Maximum flow rate: 900 m3/h
- Optimal flow rate: 700 m3/h
- Filter diameter: 230 mm
- Length without flange: 650 mm
- Activated charcoal: 4.0 kg (CTC75, bed layer 3 cm)
- Weight: 6.9 kg
- Dust pre-filter included
- Charcoal lifespan: depends on load and flow rate (higher flow rate = shorter lifespan), approximately months to over a year in normal operation
- Horizontal and vertical installation; operating temperature 10 to 70 °C
Which fan and tent it suits
Choose a 160 mm fan with an output of up to 900 m3/h - for example the Prima Klima 160 mm fan. The filter is suitable, approximately, for a 120x120 cm tent or a smaller grow room. You can easily calculate the required flow rate: multiply the room volume (length x width x height in metres) by 60 and compare the result with the filter's maximum output. It is compatible with any 160 mm fan with the appropriate output; in the Eco Line range it is followed by the smaller K2602 620 m3/h 150 mm variant.
Frequently asked questions
Which filter suits my fan and tent?
Diameter and flow rate matter: the filter flange matches the diameter of the fan and ducting, here 160 mm. This model can handle, approximately, a 120x120 cm tent or a smaller grow room and a flow rate of up to 900 m3/h. A larger filter means more charcoal and a longer lifespan, while a smaller one saves space.
How long does the charcoal last?
Lifespan depends on load and flow rate - a higher flow rate means a shorter lifespan (roughly double the flow rate = half the lifespan), approximately months to over a year in normal operation. Therefore, run the filter only when odour is noticeable, and slow the flow rate down rather than speeding it up; the charcoal will then last significantly longer.
Can the charcoal be replaced?
Yes, the filter is refillable - once the charcoal is exhausted, simply top up or replace the fill and the filter body continues to serve. Vacuum the pre-filter occasionally; this will extend the charcoal's lifespan. You can find other sizes among the carbon filters.
