How does it all work?
The magic of this set lies in the perfect synergy of the individual components, which together create ideal conditions for your plants.
The heart of the system: AutoPot 4Pot
The basis of everything is the gravity-fed irrigation system AutoPot 4Pot System. It does not need any electricity. Everything is controlled by the patented AQUAvalve5 float valve in each tray. It fills the tray with water to a height of 20 mm and remains closed until the plants have used up all the water. Only then does it open again and the cycle repeats. This creates a highly beneficial wet-dry regime for the roots. The spacious 15-litre pots give the roots plenty of room, and the large 47-litre reservoir provides watering for many days.
Nutrition for the whole cycle: Biotabs tablets
Forget mixing fertilisers. Biotabs tablets are 100% organic slow-release nutrient tablets (NPK 15-7-8). Simply press them into the substrate and your nutrition for the entire growing cycle is taken care of. They contain a blend of organic ingredients and beneficial soil bacteria that not only feed the plant, but also actively improve the soil micro-life and increase nutrient availability.
The basis of success: Substrate and drainage
For the AutoPot system to work properly, it is essential to use an airy substrate and a drainage layer. That is why the set includes the light, organically certified BioNova Bio Soilmix substrate, which, thanks to the perlite admixture, ensures optimal aeration of the roots. At the bottom of each pot belongs a 2-3 cm layer of expanded clay (hydroton) Plagron Euro Pebbles. This prevents the roots from standing in water and ensures free space around the sensitive AQUAvalve valve.
Simple instructions for use
- Pour a 2-3 cm layer of Plagron Euro Pebbles into the bottom of each pot.
- Fill the pots with BioNova Bio Soilmix substrate, which you mix with the remaining Plagron Euro Pebbles.
- Press 3 Biotabs tablets into the substrate in each pot to a depth of 5-10 cm.
- Plant your plant (seedling or seed).
- Assemble the AutoPot system according to the enclosed manual and fill the reservoir with clean water (no fertilisers!).
- For the first approx. 7-10 days, water the plants manually from above so that the root system develops all the way to the bottom of the pot. Then leave everything to the system.
