Principle and Function: Smart watering without electricity

The heart of the entire system is the patented float valve AQUAvalve5. Once the 47-litre tank is filled, water flows by gravity through 9 mm tubes into the trays under the pots. The AQUAvalve5 valve fills the tray with water to a height of approximately 20 mm and then seals hermetically. It opens again only when the plants have used up all the water completely.

This process ensures a perfect and plant-friendly wet and dry cycle. The roots are never permanently in water, which gives them the necessary access to oxygen, stimulates their healthy and strong development, and effectively prevents the risk of overwatering or rot. The new version of the AQUAvalve5 valve also has a 66% larger inlet opening, which guarantees even more reliable operation without the risk of clogging.

Recommended substrates for maximum performance

For flawless operation of the Autopot system, it is essential to use a light and well-draining substrate. Dense and heavy soils that retain too much water can disrupt the drying cycle. We therefore recommend 50/50 mixes that ensure the ideal balance between water retention and aeration:

• 50% soil / 50% perlite
• 50% coco / 50% perlite
• 50% soil / 50% clay pebbles
• 50% coco / 50% clay pebbles
• 50% rockwool / 50% clay pebbles

In addition, place a drainage layer about 2.5 cm high of clay pebbles or perlite at the bottom of each pot. This will ensure even better drainage of excess water and aeration of the root zone.

Easy installation and expansion options

Assembling the system is intuitive and can be done in a few minutes. Simply place the grommet into the tank, connect the tubes and filter, place the discs on the bottom of the trays and pots, and connect everything together. Thanks to its modular design, you can easily expand the system. The supplied 47-litre tank comfortably supplies up to 6 pots. If you plan to grow on a larger scale, consider getting a larger tank for longer intervals between refills.
