Vivosun: Brand Guide – Tents, LED, Ventilation and Smart Control
Vivosun offers grow tents, LED lights, fans, control units and ready-made kits. Compatible smart devices can be connected in one system and controlled from the Vivosun app. This article gives you an overview of the Vivosun range available at Higarden, compares the Standard and PRO tents and inline fans, and offers practical tips on how to assemble the individual components into a working grow tent.
Vivosun and the Smart Grow System at a glance
Vivosun calls its smart growing ecosystem the Smart Grow System (SGS). It includes compatible AeroLight LED lights, AeroZesh inline fans, AeroWave E clip-on fans and selected AeroLab measuring devices. Connect the lights and fans to a supported GrowHub control unit to control them from the Vivosun app on your phone. For example, the AeroLab THB1S pairs wirelessly with the GrowHub E25 as a sensor; the connection method always depends on the model.
- The GrowHub E42A+ control unit operates compatible lighting, extraction and air circulation; you can set the relevant ventilation modes according to the time, temperature and humidity.
- For individual growth stages, the app offers preset schedules that the manufacturer calls Grow Recipes.
- You can build the system gradually: start with a tent and light, then add extraction, air circulation and climate-control equipment later.

Grow tents: Standard or PRO?
Both ranges have an Oxford fabric cover with a PE layer and reflective mylar lining, as well as a zip with an inner light-blocking trim. Their main differences are the fabric construction, frame pole diameter and load capacity. The comparison below is for the size sold at Higarden as 90 × 90 × 180 cm, which we stock in both ranges. The figures are taken from the manufacturer’s pages for models S336 and P336; the manufacturer lists their dimensions as 36 × 36 × 72 in, which converts precisely to approximately 91.4 × 91.4 × 182.9 cm. If you are buying for a tight space, check the actual external dimensions first. The number of plants is only a guide and depends on their size and how they are trained.
| Parameter | Standard 90 × 90 × 180 cm | PRO 90 × 90 × 180 cm |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | 600D Oxford | 2000D Oxford |
| Steel frame pole diameter | 16 mm | 22 mm |
| Frame load capacity | 100 lb (about 45 kg) | 220 lb (about 100 kg) |
| Viewing window | about 30 × 30 cm | about 96 × 39 cm |
| Reinforcement for high-powered extraction | not specified by the manufacturer | High CFM Kit included |
| Capacity according to the manufacturer | 2–4 plants in 3 US gal pots (about 11.4 L) | 2–4 plants in 3 US gal pots (about 11.4 L) |
| At Higarden | Standard 90 × 90 × 180 cm | PRO 90 × 90 × 180 cm |
The Standard range is suitable for smaller setups with a lighter grow light and fan. It offers a wide choice of sizes, from the low 60 × 60 × 90 cm tent to the 150 × 150 × 200 cm model. PRO is designed for heavier equipment and more powerful extraction. As well as the 90 × 90 cm size, we also stock it in the rectangular 60 × 120 × 180 cm version.
AeroLight A100 LED lighting
According to the product pages, the AeroLight A100 is a 100 W LED panel with Samsung LM301B diodes and an adjustable full spectrum of 390–730 nm. A built-in circulation fan in the centre of the panel directs air straight into the canopy. The manufacturer lists the following specifications:
- recommended area of 60 × 60 cm according to Higarden; the manufacturer lists 2 × 2 ft (approximately 61 × 61 cm by precise conversion),
- photon efficacy of 2.75 µmol/J and PPFD of 665 µmol/(m²·s) at a distance of 12 in (30.5 cm); the PPFD figure is not the total photon flux, PPF,
- dimming in steps of 25, 50, 75 and 100% via GrowHub, or continuously from 25 to 100% in the app,
- IP65 rating and a stated service life of up to 50,000 hours.
According to the manufacturer’s FAQ, without GrowHub the light runs at 100% and the built-in fan runs at maximum speed. You need a compatible GrowHub E42A, E42A+ or E25 control unit for dimming, spectrum changes, schedules and fan control; this must be purchased separately with a standalone A100. You can connect multiple lights in a daisy chain and connect only the first one to the controller. However, each light needs its own mains power supply.
Ventilation: AeroZesh and AeroWave
AeroZesh inline fans have an EC motor with PWM speed control and a mixed-flow design. At Higarden, we stock them in kits with a control unit, so you do not need to buy speed control separately. The table below shows the nominal duct diameters and maximum airflow rates. For the S4 and S6, we use the manufacturer’s product pages (208 and 405 CFM); for the S8, we use its manual (830 CFM). The figures for the T range match the products at Higarden and the manufacturer’s specifications. The conversion is 1 CFM ~ 1.699 m³/h. These are the fans’ maximum airflow rates; the actual flow rate will be lower with a filter and ducting.
| Model | Diameter | Max. airflow | Control unit included |
|---|---|---|---|
| AeroZesh S4 | 100 mm | approx. 353 m³/h (208 CFM) | GrowHub E42A |
| AeroZesh S6 | 150 mm | approx. 688 m³/h (405 CFM) | GrowHub E42A |
| AeroZesh S8 | 200 mm | approx. 1,410 m³/h (830 CFM) | GrowHub E42A |
| AeroZesh T4 | 100 mm | approx. 357 m³/h (210 CFM) | GrowHub E42A+ |
| AeroZesh T6 | 150 mm | approx. 693 m³/h (408 CFM) | GrowHub E42A+ |
| AeroZesh T8 | 200 mm | approx. 1,414 m³/h (832 CFM) | GrowHub E42A+ |
For the S4, the product title at Higarden lists 355 m³/h, but the description says 353 m³/h; for the S6, the title says 689 m³/h and the description 688 m³/h. The S range manual also lists 212 and 402 CFM for the S4 and S6, respectively, or about 360 and 683 m³/h. The sources differ, so do not treat differences of a few m³/h between the S and T ranges as proof of higher performance in themselves.
If you want a complete extraction system straight away, choose the Smart Air Filtration Kit Pro 100 mm. It includes an AeroZesh T4 fan, an E42A+ control unit, a carbon filter and ventilation ducting. We also stock the same kit in a 150 mm version with T6 and a 200 mm version with T8.
Inside the tent, AeroWave clip-on fans keep the air moving. The E6 Gen2 model has a 15 cm fan blade, a power consumption of 12 W and ten speeds when controlled through the app; five speeds are available directly on the fan. The head oscillates automatically through 90° from side to side, and you can tilt it up or down manually by 80°. The larger E9 has a 23 cm fan blade and a power consumption of 18 W. For general advice on designing ventilation, see the article How to choose and assemble grow tent ventilation. The article EC or AC fan explains the differences between the motors.
GrowHub control units
The control unit determines how the tent operates. Vivosun offers several options, each suited to different needs.
Ready-made P336 and P426 kits
Would you rather not assemble the components individually? According to the descriptions at Higarden, the Grow Tent Kit 3x3 P336 (90 × 90 × 180 cm, area 0.81 m²) and Grow Tent Kit 2x4 P426 (120 × 60 × 180 cm, area 0.72 m²) have the same main equipment; they differ in the tent dimensions and floor plan, as well as the trellis net:
- PRO range grow tent,
- 2× AeroLight A100 LED lights, totalling 200 W for lighting only; the power consumption of the fans and other equipment is additional,
- Smart Air Filtration Kit Pro 100 mm: AeroZesh T4 fan (357 m³/h), E42A+ control unit, carbon filter and ducting,
- AeroWave E6 Gen2 clip-on fan,
- 5 fabric pots of 18.9 L each, an elastic trellis net, a 100 mm vent cover, scissors and plant ties.
The square P336 fits more easily into a room corner. The narrower P426 is suitable for placing against a wall or in an alcove.
Who is Vivosun suitable for?
- Beginners who want everything from one brand and controlled from one app. A ready-made kit saves you having to work out which components are compatible.
- Those who want automation, so that extraction responds to temperature and humidity and the light switches itself on and off.
- Growers who are building their setup gradually. The system grows one component at a time: connect additional devices to the E42A+ control unit, use the E25 to add a compatible device controlled separately or a chain of AeroLight lights, and use the A22 to switch compatible standard appliances from other brands.
Are you growing tomatoes, chili peppers, herbs or salads? Adjust the tent size, light output, ventilation and environmental settings to suit the specific plant species and growth stage. For a general selection guide, see the article Buying a grow tent from A to Z.
Assembly tips
- Start with the tent. Measure the available space and ceiling height. Then choose a light and fan to suit the tent size.
- Choose extraction to suit the tent. For 90 × 90 × 180 cm and 120 × 60 × 180 cm tents, Vivosun recommends a 4" (100 mm) inline fan, such as the AeroZesh S4 or T4.
- One control unit for the whole tent. The E42A+ controls up to 6 devices from the supported list. You usually need a separate E25 for each device, but it can control compatible AeroLight lights together when they are linked in a chain.
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. GrowHub connects only to a 2.4 GHz network. When pairing in the app, select the 2.4 GHz network, not 5 GHz.
- Reinforce the PRO tent. For the PRO sizes listed here, the included High CFM Kit limits the cover from bowing under powerful extraction and helps secure the trellis net.
- Cover unused openings. Use mesh vent covers in diameters of 100, 150 and 200 mm.
- Position fans thoughtfully. The article Where and how to position fans correctly can help.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Vivosun Standard and PRO tents?
For the compared size of 90 × 90 × 180 cm, PRO has 2000D fabric compared with 600D, a larger frame pole diameter (22 mm compared with 16 mm), a higher stated load capacity and an included reinforcing High CFM Kit. At this size, Standard is lighter and Higarden offers it in more dimensions. The contents of PRO kits in other sizes may differ.
Do I need to buy a control unit separately for the AeroLight LED light?
Yes, if you want to dim the light, change the spectrum, control the built-in fan or schedule operation. A compatible GrowHub E42A, E42A+ or E25 must be purchased separately with a standalone A100. According to the manufacturer, without GrowHub the light runs at 100% and the fan runs at maximum speed.
Does GrowHub work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No. GrowHub connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
What happens if the Wi-Fi goes down?
According to the manufacturer, GrowHub E42A+ continues to work with the last settings or a saved schedule, and you can control the basic functions of the lights and fans directly on the unit. This description of local control does not apply to the E25, which has no display. Without a connection, you simply cannot see current data in the app or control the tent remotely.
What does the P336 kit include?
A PRO tent measuring 90 × 90 × 180 cm, two AeroLight A100 LED lights (200 W in total) and an AeroZesh T4 extraction system with an E42A+ control unit, carbon filter and ducting. It also includes an AeroWave E6 Gen2 clip-on fan, fabric pots and small accessories.
Choose your Vivosun equipment
You can find the full range on the Vivosun brand page. The quickest way to get started is with a ready-made P336 or P426 kit. If you want to assemble your own setup, choose a tent first, followed by an LED light, extraction and a control unit. We will be happy to help you choose.
