BioNova Coco Forte A+B is a highly concentrated two-part fertiliser, offering the simplest and most effective solution for growing annual plants such as tomatoes, peppers or herbs in any coco substrate. Forget the need to alternate fertilisers for growth and bloom - this set provides everything needed from the first week right through to harvest. Thanks to its extreme concentration, it is also exceptionally economical.

• Food-grade minerals: all nutrients are immediately available to plants and easily absorbed. This means a faster response to feeding and optimal control over nutrition. The pure composition is also reflected in the final taste and aroma of your harvest.
• Chelated trace elements: trace elements have a protective coating (chelate) that keeps them stable and available to plants across a wider pH range. Your plants therefore do not suffer from deficiencies, even if the pH of the irrigation water is not completely ideal.
• Low content of ballast salts: the fertiliser contains a minimum of unnecessary salts that would accumulate in the substrate and could damage the roots. This makes it ideal for drip irrigation and recirculation systems, as there is no risk of clogging.

Why choose a fertiliser specifically for coco

Coco substrate is not soil - it is an almost inert medium with unique properties. It has a natural tendency to bind calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) and, conversely, release potassium (K). Using a standard fertiliser would lead to a rapid deficiency of calcium and magnesium, which would show as slowed growth and yellowing leaves. Coco Forte A+B fertiliser is specially formulated with a higher content of calcium and magnesium to compensate for this effect and ensure plants have a perfect balance of nutrients throughout the entire growing period. The recommended substrate is Cocomix Plus.

Instructions for use: an easy route to a rich harvest

Use is very simple. The fertiliser is applied with every watering from the first week of growth until the week before harvest, when flushing with clean water is necessary.

• Shake both bottles well, component A and B.
• Fill the watering tank with water.
• Add component A at a rate of 9-18 ml per 10 litres of water and mix thoroughly.
• Then add the same amount of component B (9-18 ml per 10 litres of water) and mix again.
• Important: never mix the concentrates of components A and B directly together - this would render them ineffective.
• After mixing, check and, if necessary, adjust the pH of the resulting solution to 5.5-6.5.

When reusing the substrate, we recommend first measuring its EC so that you can better adjust the initial fertiliser dose. If you are watering with soft water or reverse osmosis water, supplement the substrate with calcium and magnesium using Ca 15 and MgO 10.

Troubleshooting tips and advanced techniques

The fertiliser composition gives you a unique opportunity to address nutrient deficiencies or influence plant development in a targeted way.

• Deficiency of nitrogen (N), calcium (Ca) or magnesium (Mg): this shows as slow growth and yellowing of the lower leaves. For a quick remedy, you can temporarily apply only component A, either by watering or as a foliar spray.
• Deficiency of phosphorus (P) or potassium (K): the typical signs are weak flowering, the formation of small fruits and reddish stems. In that case, apply component B separately.
• Support for the growth (vegetative) phase: if you want to encourage vigorous growth of green mass, you can temporarily change the ratio to 2 parts component A and 1 part component B.
• Support for the flowering phase: for a faster onset and more abundant flowering, change the ratio to 2 parts component B and 1 part component A. Throughout the flowering period, we also recommend adding PK 13-14.

Recommended combinations for maximum results

Although Coco Forte A+B is a complete basic nutrition, combining it with other supplements can achieve even more impressive results. For a synergistic effect, we recommend BN-Zym for breaking down dead roots and maintaining a healthy substrate, or X-ceL to stimulate growth and flowering and increase yield.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need a special fertiliser for coco, isn’t a regular Supermix enough?

Coco substrate naturally binds calcium and magnesium and, conversely, releases potassium, so the plant would quickly lack these elements. Coco Forte A+B therefore has a higher Ca and Mg content directly in the formula - in harder water this is enough, while with RO water or soft water you should additionally supplement with Ca 15 and MgO 10.

Do I have to add PK 13-14 when I am already using A+B?

Yes, for maximum flower set BioNova recommends supplementing the dosage with PK 13-14 throughout the flowering period - A+B covers the basic nutrition, while PK 13-14 adds extra phosphorus and potassium.

How do I know if I have over-fertilised the plants?

The first sign is usually browning of the leaf tips. Dose within the range of 9-18 ml of each component per 10 l of water, adjust the pH to 5.5-6.5 after mixing, and when reusing the substrate, first measure its EC so that you can adjust the dose.
